HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETTY WHITE.

So many loved Betty White.   She was a comedian and funny and loving.  But, for those of us in the rescue world, we remember what she did.   She was an animal advocate-- doing so much to save and help and support those animals who needed it.
My daughter shares her birthday-- she adopted Tuk Tuk, and Granger.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUGAR!
Her first Pekes were Coffeecake and Coach.   My girls were raised with Pekes.
When you're in the rescue world, there are many who have done so much and they inspire us.   We see big rescues, small rescues, and those who do "small" things to help.  (Is anything really small?)
Winston and Gizmo above.
Rescue isn't always easy-- if it was easy, more would do it.
Sometimes, you love and lose them.  (BeeBee and Nala)
Some come from hoarding situations, and then find love and health in rescue.  (Sissy)
Some are older when they come into rescue-- like Lady.
Some come to us as fosters-- and they aren't adopted, so after a year, we declare they are home!  (Max and Kai Kai)
Some come and are fearful.  (Rocky)
Some come and need care and then find wonderful homes.  (Daisy)
Some come and we don't know what happened to them.  They are considered "not adoptable" so we keep them in our foster homes for the rest of their life.  (Bric/Rick)
A few come into foster care, and one of your grandchildren falls in love and can't bear for you to let them go.  So, they stay.  (Chumley)
There are so many victories--and some good-byes.   But, good-byes are said with love and holding and kisses.  (My heart, Kai Kai)
Only one time has my husband said, "Can we keep these two?"  (Piper and Paddington)
Some come and stay because they are too stressed to move on.  Minnie stayed and was on prozac and calmed some.  She had a good life of peace here.
Gidget came to rescue-- with seizures not treated before.  Thin and needy.  Rescue is helping.  She has begun seizure meds and we are observing her.
Lucy MoMo came to us after being injured and given up by her owner.   She needed a special home and she got one.
Sissy and Zoey came here-- Sissy had awful, cauliflower ears.  Infections left untreated.   Zoey had been uncared for her entire life.  Both found love and care because of rescue.
Kenobi-- precious Kenobi.    He was so loved.
Three new ones just came-- Cyclone "Cy" is one of them.  Care begins now.
Granger is my granddog now-- he came from a rough situation, but rescue changed his life.
Clara-- precious.  I was honored to be her foster mom.
Rocky...
Zoey...
Fluffy...
Bogie...
Luna, Nippy, Monk...
Precious Starlight....
Tuk Tuk....
Minnie...
Rescue is not what everyone can do.   But, for those of us who foster, those who support our work, those who encourage us and life us up on bad days... YOU are also part of rescue.  So, thank you to Betty White, and our adopters, and our foster parents, and those who give donations and time.   Rescue is possible because of you.   We may celebrate Betty White's birthday-- but we also celebrate RESCUE and all who are part of it.  Thank you.  πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰

Happy Birthday to your daughter!
I do believe Betty White would have been 100 years if she lived to her birthday.
