FEARFUL DOGS

Click here: A Little Bit Backwards | Life With Dogs

This is a good article to read if you are working with a fearful dog.   I wish I'd read this before-- it may have helped me with some dogs I've fostered.    Sometimes, we need to just give dogs some space while they become less fearful and more trusting.   It's a good article to read.

I've worked with feral cats and it's basically the same technique. You have to give them their own space and make all your contact with them positive experiences. Great article.

Good article! Also applies to scared cats. I've had some hide for two to three weeks, but left out food and water, and a litter box for them. Eventually, the cats started approaching me. We humans also have to adjust to new situations and environments.
