MATILDA-- THE GIFT OF SIGHT

Matilda came into rescue in June.   She was in a shelter near me.
Even though she is "looking" at my granddaughter, Matilda couldn't see.  At most, she could see shadows, but she could hear just fine.
She had very dense cataracts, which must have been there for some time.  She was found as a stray-- it's amazing she was safe.
With the help of donations, we were able to have cataract surgery done on her.  The dogs we are getting into rescue are needing more and more care.   We are often called to help the most needy.
Matilda's surgery has been successful!   Watching her see, discover a new world, one that is no longer dark, has been a wonder!  A wonder for her and for me.
Her brown eyes are clear and free of the white areas that were the cataracts.
She even discovered that she had other dogs around-- and a yard and birds and people on the street.   She barked at Gigi, the chocolate lab, and Gigi climbed into her mom's lap and hid her face.  A 9 pound Pekingese named Matilda can be very scary!!  LOL
Matilda even fussed at Granger, my daughter's other dog.   Granger just laid down-- this little girl was tough!
Being part of Matilda's journey has been an awesome experience.  Thank you for helping make this possible.  I'm honored to have been part of this.  I just love her.   She is in her new home now and her adventure continues!!  More blogs will be coming on her!
