FAREWELL ALASTOR

This sweet boy came into rescue 2 years ago-- the shelter let us have him early because he was in such dire shape.
His health issues were all going against him, but our wonderful vet Dr. Hodges, did all she could for him.
Alastor had a huge heart murmur-- you could hold him and feel his heart working.   His teeth were so bad, fleas, eye issues, severely underweight-- but his personality was huge, sweet and loving.
He stayed with the Hodges because they could give him the medical care he needed and deserved after a life of neglect.
He became Lucinda's heart dog-- you know, those that you love so intensely that they are connected to your heart in a very deep way.
People may ask why you would adopt a senior dog-- and Lucinda said it perfectly, "People often ask how I can adopt a senior and put myself through this, but the tears I shed when I say goodbye are far better than allowing such a sweet soul to die alone and unloved in a shelter. Thank you Alastor for sharing your life with us."
Alastor had two incredible years of love with his family.   He gave them so much love in return.
Alastor, you touched all our hearts-- I'm so glad you came to our rescue so you could have the love and care you needed so much.    I'm so grateful to Lucinda and Roger for caring for you and loving you.   Run free now, sweet one!
