SMUSHIE

Washington Animal Rescue League in DC asked if we could take in a heartworm positive Peke.   We have been overwhelmed with requests this month-- not unusual in February.    That seems to be the month for "after Christmas"-- sometimes a new dog has come into a family and the older dogs "go out."   It's sad, but it happens.
Smushie came in with his female friend, but she was adopted.  Being heartworm positive made him not as adoptable there.
He is about 7 and 17 pounds, and sweet!!
He stayed the night in one of our adopter's home and met Arby (who was from the Bristol 18 group) on his way to his foster home in Roanoke.    He was very sweet and they said he is so loving.    Welcome to rescue, Smushie!!    We'll make you well!

I know you will fix up that heart worm and Mr Smushie will be ready for a new family who will love him FOREVER!! This is what ALL dogs need!

Oh Linda .... how can someone just turf out a dog ... I know it happens here in Australia too but... OMG - what sort of people are they?
Mr Smushie is lovely and I am doing my Adoption Dance for him !!
