VISITING THE CHRISTMAS PUPS

I visited the Christmas 2024 Rescue dogs yesterday.  I’ve been w them several times.  They all had numbers from the shelter but we also gave them Christmas names.  We do that to every dog who comes to us during December.

We chose:
Tinsel, Jolly, Jack, Jingle, Nicholas, Kringle, Gabriel, Noelle, Kris, Bethany, and Holly.   There was a big range in weight/ from 7.2 pounds to 13.5 pounds.   All are underweight. But they love to eat and we have them all on Hills ID food.  I use it for every foster.  They like the taste and it’s a good choice for avoiding stomach issues. It’s gentle and easy on their systems.

They’ve had their labs done.  They were all anemic from the fleas.   Their skin was a mess.  But they are healing.
Some are bossy. Some have no need to be the boss. They love attention.  Some just want to snuggle.
At least 3 will see the ophthalmologist.  One needs an eye removed.  Some need nasal fold surgery and  dentals. All  spay/neuter and the ones who have hernias will have those repaired.  Coming into rescue on the holidays makes everything a little slower.  Two left the vet today for foster homes.  More will go to their foster homes soon.  It’s a lot to take in at once.
Kringle met my crew and was not phased a bit. Everyone sniffed and then decided he was okay.
Today is the last day of 2024.  All of these pups are beginning a new life.  We think it will be wonderful.  #Chistmas2024

READY FOR 2025?

I mentioned that as the holidays are finishing we would like to rest.  I think our pets do, too. Hunter has watched me coming and going,  doing extra things, and as I write this, he is curled up across my lap, sound asleep.
Callie hasn’t done anything strenuous, but she’s our old girl so she sleeps a lot anyway.
Cinnamon is worn out by Hunter so she curled up on the bed and fell asleep.
Piper did too!  After a hair destroying play session w Hunter, he was ready to just zone out for awhile.
Hunter later took over the top of the bed. He likes getting under the covers if he can.

Even two of my grand-dogs are exhausted.  So much going on means TIME OUT.  Lily climbed on the couch and that was it.
Dave, a big recent addition got up there too.  And he requested covers.
New Years is coming fast.  Dave is going to sleep through it.  What are your plans?

CHRISTMAS REST

This was a full week.
Paddington and Toasty loved celebrating this week.  It was so much fun watching the grandkids open presents.  But Christmas can make you want to take a nap.
Piper (who shakes and then looks wild) was definitely ready for a rest.   Piper and Hunter play a lot now.  It’s really good for Hunter.  He needs a friend when he finds a home.
Hunter likes to get under the covers at night.  He comes out and snuggles w me.   Resting is fun!
Granger was exhausted.  Thank goodness he found a box to climb into. He’s the cardboard king.  Maybe we can all rest a few hours today. The New Year is coming so rest up!

ANOTHER RESCUE DAY

UPDATE;  There was a mix up and we did not get this group of 5.  We’re disappointed but they did go to another rescue.

We have been busy!  We took in 11 Pekes on Monday.
I shared this one.  I’m not posting much on them until we know more about them. People have been incredible s offers to help and w donations.   Thank you!    This will be one of the largest rescues we have done.

Every dog we help deserves a second chance.   WE ARE RESCUE   🐾🐾
