ABNER COMES TO RICHMOND

Abner was one of my fosters ten years ago!   He is now a therapy dog in Buffalo.  Here he is checking in to make passengers feel better at the airport.

Patch, Abner and Cheech have come to Richmond and I get to see them today!   Yahoo!  I can't wait.

JABBA MEETS TUK TUK

Jabba's foster home isn't too far from Tuk Tuk.
So, he went to visit.
Granger decided to just hang out in a bag, and let the youngsters have their shenanigans.
Is this a toy?
Tuk Tuk thinks, "Will he play?"
And he finds out that Jabba LOVES to play!
They ran all around the back yard-- three times!!!   A nap was in order.
Jabba thinks, "A crazy dog named Tuk Tuk lives here.  But, he is kind of fun."   LOL  😆

WINDOW WATCHERS

I’ve been under the weather so the dogs have been helping.
We’ve slowed down and just hung out.  We’ve read on the porch, and hung out in the hammock.
The wind was blowing as I sat on the day bed and read.
The dogs loved peeking out and feeling the wind in their face.
They were getting too adventurous so I closed the window.
That was fine w Chu Chu.  It was still fun to see a high version of outside. (We were upstairs.).
Once we got off the day bed, it was just another form of window watching.
Look at those pretty dogs outside the “window.”   🤣.
Never boring w a Pekingese!

FANCY AND PAISLEY

Fancy and her friend, Paisley are just hanging out together.
Fancy is one of our permanent fosters.  Due to behavior issues, she is not considered adoptable.  She belonged to a homeless woman who lived in a car, and Fancy had a lot of trauma.   She has learned to trust her foster mom, but she could not adjust to a change.  She is safe in our rescue.
She loves to help her mom.   They are going through  recipes.  I wonder if she has a favorite.
Paisley just watches from the side.
And Gus the Great Pyrenes isn't interested unless it's already made.
Fancy-- you are safe in our forever foster group.   You're very loved.  💜

PADME “PADDY”-- SHY GIRL

Padme "Paddy" is one of the Maryland Five.   She is very timid, and so are most of this group.  It's hard when they come from an "unstable home" and we don't have other information.  But, we are patient.  It takes time.
Paddy has discovered she can rest of the pillow and look out the window-- all the while, keeping an eye on her foster mom, Nikki.
Her foster brother, Bing, came from our group and he is helping her know she's safe.
She also had a cat friend there-- and Paddy does fine with cats.  Betty likes to watch the aquarium.
Paddy's spay appointment is coming up, but it's not super close.   That's fine.  It's gives us more time to know her and to pick the best home for her.

JABBA HAS SURGERY

Jabba is one of the Maryland Five.

He was neutered and he had a nose job.
He was pretty out of it.  Poor guy.
Before he left the vet, the tech had to try some hats on him.
Are you a Viking here?

Jabba using his foster brother Paisley as a pillow once he got home.
Look how great his nose looks.  He can breathe so much better now.

I HAVE COVID

I have Covid so I’m lying low.
The dogs are fascinated w the mirror in the bedroom especially seeing me in it and wondering how I got there.
We take time outside and then back to laying down.
I’m never alone on the couch or bed.
Looking out the bedroom window is fun for Chu Chu.
Leia loves being on the bed— and then she wants an adventure.
Most are content to just rest w me.
I’m doing a lot of resting.
Couch time.
The porch has a hammock and of course dog beds.  I’m doing better. I can breathe fine.  But it will take some time to regroup.  Thank you for your prayers.

PADME OF THE MARYLAND FIVE

Padme “Paddy” is a young beautiful female from The Maryland Five.
There were three females in the group.
She is being fostered with PVPC alumni Bing.
Paddy is timid.   So many changes.

She had a bath and was very good.  (Unlike Leia who got me as wet as she was. 😁
She is 3-4 years old and will be spayed soon.
She likes curling up with her foster dad.  Paddy would probably enjoy a friend with her.   She was used to having a buddy.  If you’re interested in her, fill out an application. https://potomacpekes.org/adoption-application/
