PIPPI PIPER SURGERY

Pippi had a rough day yesterday.  She was spayed and had a dental.  She was missing most of her teeth but lost 7 more.  She also had holes in her jaw and abscessed  teeth. She has 3 teeth left.  She ate a little liquidy food this morning.   She will need that for at least ten days. Phoebe was there too and I’ll give an update on her later. .  

Pippi slept close and rested all night and I’ll be watching her all day.  Heal well little one. 🌸
 

PHOBE AND PIPER

Today is the day.  Pippi Piper and …

Phoebe go in for their spay and dental.  They both had baths and are ready. 

Cinnamon is going too. She’s having a mid year checkup. 

I know both girls will need teeth removed. Both are missing some already. 

Once they’re back home, I’m sure they’ll take a long cozy nap. 

Maybe I’ll take a nap right along w Pippi Piper. 😴
 

GWENNIE AND STARLIGHT

When Gwennie came into rescue, many people commented on her resemblance to Starlight. 

Starlight has been gone since January 2018.  But we remember her so well.  

Starlight and Gwennie both have similar coloring.   Gweenie is lighter.  

Some of you remember Floyd and Starlight together.  Floyd was similar but with darker brown.  

Gwennie is longer than Starlight and she loves everyone!  If people come, she is right there to greet them.   After all, they must have come to see HER.

Starlight.   Let's just say I had a playpen near the front door to put her in if someone came in.  She was an ankle biter and didn't like strangers at all.   But little people, babies and children?  She absolutely adored them.  People were shocked, but she was like their Nanny dog.  

Starlight was compact, so she looked smaller.  She and Gweenie weigh about the same.   A little over 12 pounds.    We were/are blessed by both of them.  💕💕💕💕

JOLLY—WAITING FOR A WALK

Jolly was one of the Christmas ‘24 rescues. 

His life is so good now. Plenty to eat. Walks to take.  Parents who adore you. 

Did you mention walks?!

Jolly’s dad went out for a moment before their walk. Jolly was not amused!

Finally. About time.  Let’s go!

Then it’s time for more rest. Jolly has to regain his energy before he goes out again.  Oh the life of a Pekingese. 🥰
 

YOGI AND THE PUPPIES

I’ve never had a Bishon.  I’m not sure if they’re judgy but they sure are cute. 

Yogi is loving having Sophie and Spencer there.  Non stop playtime— w a few naps in between. 

We’ve discovered that bichon puppies are investigators, explorers, excavators, curious, loving and full of fun! 

Did I mention they like to dig?  😂

Then they discovered the hose.  Oh wow did they get into that.  

Total joy!  They get a lot of baths!  🛁

They are giving Yogi a run for his money.  And he loves it. 

All clean — again.  We’ll need to send their foster mom Susan some shampoo.  She’s going to need it!  lol 

The puppies will be neutered/spayed in September and be available for adoption after that.  

 

HUGO SAYS HAPPY SUNDAY

Hugo’s mom has adopted from PVPC.  She moved to New York and found out that Hugo needed help. He’s been w his mom for several years now. He brings so much joy to her.  They both say HAPPY SUNDAY! 🌞

NEW YORK TOASTY

 Toasty loves walks. 

Toasty has become a real Brooklyn dog.  He’s beginning his second year living there. 

He’s telling his girl (my granddaughter) he wants to go on a walk. 

He has learned about the traffic and sits until it’s his turn to cross the street. 

Ready?  Let’s go!

After a walk, it was shower time!  He loved it. 

After a busy day, he’s ready to rest.  It’s been hot up there, just like in Virginia.  (Hope it cools off soon.)

And he’s done. He has steps to get on his girl’s bed.  He sometimes takes over the silk pillow. 😂 Your girl won’t mind. 😍

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SADIE

Trixie and Gidget love their new home. They joined other PVPC alumni. 

Leia now Li-Li is one of them.  She adores all her new family.  She has so many friends. 

Belle now Minnie and Oliver now Moose are from the Christmas rescue  and look at the faces behind them.  There’s so much love there.  

Trixie and Gidget are there too and they helped celebrate their big sister’s birthday! 

They each got a birthday treat.  Yum! 

Sadie is about 15-16 and was rescued in 2022.   She has a loving mom and dad, a home, friends.  It’s the best.  Happy birthday sweet girl! 🥰

WELCOME SOPHIE AND SPENCER

We were asked if we could help two 3 month old bichon puppies. We had an open foster so we said yes. 

Who is who?

Their foster mom put Sophie in a green harness and Spencer is wearing a red one.  

They are both super sweet and very playful. 

They are in Yogi’s home and they play until they run out of energy.  A short rest and they’re off again to play.  

Sophie and Spencer can be adopted separately  

We adopt in Maryland and Virginia.  We do home and vet checks.  We do not adopt to first time adopters or to homes w young children

MARLOWE’S DNA

Marlowe is doing great.  Winter is insisting that he plays w her. 

She barks and say “let’s play!!”

Todd is observing but also gets into it. 

Is that a play bow? 

His foster mom did a DNA test on him. 

He is mostly Pekingese. 🐾

But what is a Mi-Ki?   Marlowe doesn’t care. He’s busy w his bone. 

He’s contemplating all the wonderful breeds he has.  It doesn’t matter.  He’s beautiful to us.
