FAREWELL MOCCA

Mocca (on the right) came into rescue in 2007 with his litter mate, Tiger (then Dancer and Dasher).

Mocca was the bigger one-- and so sweet.
Tiger was almost half Mocca's size.  Tiger (left) and Mocca were found in 2007 in an abandoned apartments. They were young puppies and would have died if they hadn't been found when they were. We called them Dasher and Dancer.  It was close to Christmas. :-)

They were adopted separately, but later, Mocca's owner could no longer care for him and asked up to help again.    I asked Tiger's family if they would like to have his brother-- and they said YES.

Mocca was sweet and adorable and loved fetching his ball.    His brother, Tiger, was the opposite.  His mom said he is "really high on my scale of crazy Pekes."   Tiger snores loudly and does whatever he wants.   Polar opposites.
I'm so glad they had that time to be siblings again.
Mocca passed away last week.   He was the bigger one, and was a gentle giant.  I know Tiger will miss his best friend.   Run free now, sweet boy.  Your family misses you so much.  💙

BISCUIT GETS A SISTER

Biscuit came into rescue 4 1/2 years ago as a young one.  And now he has a sister!
Muffin Mae was rescued from a puppy mill and look at her now!
She ran all over the back yard, the freedom of a rescued dog.
Biscuit had other doggy siblings, but he’s  not too sure of the new one.
Say CHEESE!
Don’t worry Biscuit.  She will soon be your best friend!

ZOEY UPDATE

Zoey came into rescue two years ago-- her owner had died and she was in a shelter with Rascal.   (Rascal came into rescue also and was adopted.   He passed away in March.)
Zoey was in rough shape, bad back legs, lots of hair loss, and in need of good nutrition.
She began to blossom-- and learned to beg.
She was deaf, with little vision, and she had no teeth after her dental that removed the only 3teeth she had.   She had no lower jaw, gone from untreated infection.
She was full of love-- except when you woke her up and she wanted to take you on.  LOL
Zoey was diagnosed with bone cancer (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia).   We have continued to take care of her and I didn't tell her she had cancer, so she doesn't know.  She just keeps living her life and eats well, sleeps on the bed, dances when she wants to be picked up.
Zoey's white count was 39,000 in the spring.  (Normal is 1000-5000.)   Her bloodwork this week showed her white count was "crazy high" at over 50,000.   Zoey is a hospice foster, but she is in no hurry to leave.   She shows no signs of being sick-- bone cancer is slow progressing until the end stages.   So, she is good, loving, happy.   We love her here.   She's not leaving anytime soon.

BRADLEY—ALMOST SIX YEARS!

It’s hard to believe that Bradley came into rescue six years ago.
He liked to be on things.
Really!? 🤣
He was adopted and a friend named Mulan was adopted from Dachshund rescue to be his best friend.
Bradley likes to hide his head in the pillows.  Naptime!
Napping on the deck is fine, too!
He reminds me of my grand-dog Granger.  Mud is awesome!
Milan and Bradley have been in their loving home almost six years.  Happy adoptaversary!❤️
