TUK TUK--WHERE DID THEY GO?

Tuk Tuk was looking for his friends.  Piper, Paddington,
Callie and Barty were there all last week.
And Tuk Tuk had so much fun!
Tuk Tuk didn't try to take on Paddington.  LOL   He was fine just being lower on the power slide.
They all played.
Piper loved my son in law and my daughter-- and the kids.  My daughter is Tuk Tuk's mom and she took on four of ours.   It meant I could relax during vacation and not worry about them.  And I didn't worry.)
Callie curled right up with them-- she knows them so she felt safe and loved there.
But, Tuk Tuk doesn't know where they went.   Is he tired?  Is he lonely?   Actually, he's probably exhausted!    Don't owrry Tuk Tuk.   You'll be visiting here soon!   Playtime is coming.

FAREWELL ROMEY

Romey came into rescue with the Bristol 18.   It was 2010.
He was about 3 at the time.
Romey was a beautiful boy.
He was adopter by Randa and Michael.   They adored their boy.
He had sweaters for the cold weather--
He had quite an extensive wardrobe.
He went to the river and he loved his life.
Romey had mouth melanoma last year,  but his mom took him for treatment.  He did well and the cancer seemed to go away.
They watched TV together every night in bed.  He was surrounded with love.
The cancer came back, and they did all they could do keep him comfortable.
Romey let them know this week that he was finished with the fight.   They let him go with all the love that had surrounded him for almost 12 years.   Run free now, sweet boy.   ðŸ’™

HOME!

Zoey was sound asleep in the car as we crossed the state line of Virginia.
We traveled through West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri.  All beautiful.
We stopped at a vineyard (King Family Vineyards) in Crozet, VA.
They had a sleeping kitten.  So cute.
The other cat didn’t know how to read. 🤣
Then, we stopped for lunch.  We took time on our last travel day.  We sat outside—w Zoey of course.  There were dog bowls for water.
It’s a dog friendly restaurant.  They even have PAW LAWS.
Then we picked up Sissy.
Next stop— get Callie, Barty, Piper and Paddington.
We had a great time away. But, everyone was happy to be home.  ❤️❤️

TIME TO RELAX ON A TRIP

I told you I was taking time off. And I did.  I needed a “reset.”
Rescue can be hard work.   It is very emotional.
Stepping away is not easy.  NOT.  EASY.
I made arrangements for four dogs to be w my daughter.
Two were w Amee.   And Zoey went w us.
We drove 1,000 miles.  Through Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky,Indiana, Illinois and Missouri.  We went to my in-laws home.
We sat on the porch.  I read.  I relaxed.
Deer came to the yard.   W her babies.
Piper, Tuk Tuk and Paddington hung out together.
So did Callie and Barty (who was inside).  They loved the Great Pyrenees mix puppy next door.   Rosie loved them, too.
We went to Heritage Days in the small town.  We loved it.
Steam tractors and old cars and bands.  Kettle corn and crafts.
We arrive home today after enjoying incredible Midwest sunsets.   Time away was good for my spirit and my body.   ❤️
I think we will have to do this again.

SISSY AND GIDGET

Sissy and Gidget have had a little adventure.
I took them to visit Amee and her crew.  As much as I want to keep every dog I foster, I just can’t.
So they went to visit Amee to see how Gidget would do.
They took up residence of course.   They are both so sweet and not aggressive.
Gidget slept above Amee’s head just like she does w me.  I’m going to pick up Sissy tomorrow and Gidget is going to stay to see if she would like it to be her forever home.   It’s a wonderful place!! ❤️
And Sissy will come back w me to our crazy house.  I’ve missed them but want to give Gidget this wonderful chance in Amee’s home.  It’s so full of love.  It doesn’t get better. 🥰

Sunday’s are for downtime.  Louie and Lady are firmly in agreement.
So is Zoey.   Yes. Yes. Yes.  Step back.  Breathe.  Rest.

FAREWELL LULU

In February of 2014, we received a request to take in 8 year old Lulu.
She was 22 pounds and had been bred 5 times in her early years
Life circumstances meant her owner couldn’t give her a home, so she came to us.
She found her forever home w Charlie.   I had worked w Charlie before and knew what a loving home she would have.
When she had a birthday, everyone celebrated.   Special treats were there.
Lulu’s health began to decline and Charlie thought he had more time, but Lulu told him she was ready.   Her dad wasn’t, but he had to do the hardest but most loving thing.
Lulu can run free now w all her friends who left before her.   You are loved Lulu. ❤️
