SWEET TATER ADOPTED

Is this a sweet dog?   I think so. 🥰
Sweet Tater “Pip”  came into rescue in November of 2022.
We thought she would need her eye removed, but happily, it didn't need to be.   It's not visual, but medically fine.  Yearly check ups are all she needs.
Pip needed a specialist to do her dental, but she came through great and healed completely.   She was ready for a new home.
We had one ready for her!   And it wasn't far from her foster home.
She has a new brother named Sparky and when she came, his tail was wagging!!   He was so excited.
Pip has a new mom and dad.  She will be so loved there.
Sparky is very happy and I can't wait to hear of their adventures.
Happy New Home, Pip!!

HAPPY SUNDAY — DALLAS AND LEX

DALLAS AND LEX

DALLAS AND LEX came into rescue in September.  Their owner could no longer care for them.   They have had a wonderful foster home with Nikki and her family.  We wanted them to stay together so we waited.  And it was worth it!   They will be going to their new home in March.  Everyone is so excited!   It was worth the wait.  Two very special boys are getting a very special home. ❤️❤️

LADY AND LOUIE

Lady came into rescue in August of 2021.   She was supposed to be 13 at the time.
But, she acts like a puppy.
She was adopted and joined Louie, who was a 2011 PVPC alumni.    They are close to the same age.
Louie watches his mom all the time.   He wants to know what she's up to.
And what she's up to right now is PIZZA.   SHARE, MOM!   Could you resist those faces?   Not me!
I think someone got pizza and is now sleeping with a full tummy-- the crust only, of course.  LOL 🍕

FAREWELL POOCHIE

I received this message from Poochie's mom.  "Just wanted you to know Poochie gained his wings to dog heaven today."

Poochie was one of the Bristol 18.
In 2010, we were asked to help 18 Pekingese who were in a horrible back yard breeding situation.  They were all brought to the vet we were using.  They were bathed and shaved and given good food and medical care.
Poochie came to my house for awhile.  Here he is with Max.  We think Poochie was daddy to the two puppies in that group, Colby and Carter.   Carter is gone now, but Colby lives near me.
Poochie was adopted and lived a very loved life in Richmond.    He was such a beautiful boy.
His mom and human sister just adored him.
The dog who had never been bathed before we got him came to love baths.
He had everything a little man could want.
Poochie was 18 years old when he passed away this week.   He couldn't see or heart, but oh, he was so loved and he gave that love back.
Run free, sweet little man.   Many of your friends welcomed you to the Rainbow Bridge.

Farewell Buffy Lulu

Precious Buffy Lulu came into rescue via Louisiana.   It was a very unusual rescue.   She joined our rescue in 2008.
Through rescue contacts, we had been asked to get her to safety and we were glad to help.
She was adopted to my friends, Don and Joy.   They had adopted before and that's how we met.
Buffy just blossomed with them.
She joined Ollie, her best bud.   Their house is "The Christmas House" and these two were all dressed up.
Ollie passed away four years ago this month.
It was hard for Buffy to lose her best friend.
Buffy was her parents' best girl.     She celebrated autumn and ...
Christmas.  She visited with Santa.
Her favorite spot was with her dad or her mom.
Buffy was an old girl.  She had dementia and couldn't see or hear anymore.   Her parents did everything they could but once there was nothing more that can be done, they held her as she left to join her brother, Ollie.
Run free sweet girl.   You will be so missed-- and never forgotten.

FEY-- OVER A YEAR AND A HALF LATER

Fey came into rescue in July of 2021.   She was found as a stray in NC.
Someone who used to work at my vet recognized that this was a Pekingese-- and she contacted me.
Fey showing up on the porch of someone far away from where I live, was a miracle.
Fey was cared for until she could be brought into rescue (and until a stray hold was over).   No one claimed her, so we took her in.
Fey has serious heart issues and was given about 6 months to live.
She didn't listen!    She is still going over a year and a half later.   And playing and getting into mischief.
Her foster moms adore her.  I think she's loves them, too.💖
She still keeps an eye on everything around her.
She's a beautiful little girl and one of our permanent fosters.   I'm so glad she was found and came to our rescue.   She has had a wonderful life since she was found.  It's full of care and most of all, love!

SWEET BOBBY

Bobby is a PVPC alumni.   I can see he has a lot of toys!

He is older now, but so precious.
He is his mom’s  sweetheart.
His eyes are so expressive!
Don't you agree?
He's a senior now, so napping is good.   In fact, a nap sounds good to everyone!
