GRACIE LU'S CHRISTMAS TREE

Gracie Lu's tree is up!

Look how beautiful it is.

Gracie Lu didn't help-- she just directed. And now she is checking to make sure everything is right.

I think you approve, Gracie.

Beach Bit and I are going to visit Gracie this week. I know Gracie will love him. She thinks babies are for her to take care of.

I'm not sure if she is more excited to see Beach Bit or to have Santa Claus visit. I think both are high on her list!

JOY

This little girl was saved from a puppy mill. Look at that smile!

We took in ten dogs in August, 2009. She was named Joy because of her personality. Even though she had been through so much, she still has a joyful spirit.

She rode in her car seat to the vet with her colorful harness. She was set to charm the staff.

She was missing an eye and some teeth, but she didn't care. She just wanted to be loved.

She was adopted by Florence after a first meeting proved to be love at first sight for Joy and her new mom. She lives with other doggy friends in Maryland. Joy is always wagging her tail and she steals the heart of everyone she meets. Hearing how happy she is gives all of us joy, too!

FUND RAISER/INK CARTRIDGES

Dear PVPC Members and Supporters:

I am writing to tell you about an exciting program that will help us acquire the funding we need to support the Pekes we bring into recue.Through the Funding Factory Recycling Program we are recycling empty printer cartridges, cell phones, small electronics, and laptops. The program is FREE and easy, but it won’t work without your support.

By recycling items you would normally throw away, we are earning points that we can turn into cash. Not only will we receive much-needed funds, we will be doing our part to help save the environment!

With over 300 million cartridges thrown away last year alone, this presents a great opportunity to provide our club with the funds needed to continue to provide medical care for Pekes coming into recues. Let’s make this recycling program a huge success by working together to collect as many empty cartridges, cell phones, small electronics, and laptops as we can.

We need to establish donation locations in the as many areas as possible. We are looking for volunteers to set up donation locations in your areas. We can provide you with our account number and shipping labels so that you are able to ship items collected directly to the Funding Factor.

If you are interested in participating in this program please e-mail me at lepage1764@ gmail.com. One of your new members, Angela Prather will be the coordinator of this program her e-mail is Ange822@verizon.net. Thank you in advance for your support!

BRANDY AND PARKER

Camden and Brandy are all set with their haircuts and are now waiting for Santa to arrive. I'm sure they'll send me pictures of themselves by the Christmas tree. Brandy's life has changed so much since she was one of the Bristol 18 dogs. She was a skinny 9 pounds, and is now a happy 16 pounder. She loves her foster mom and maybe she'll get a Christmas present of a forever home. We hope so!

Parker is a real cuddler. He's like a little teddy bear. His foster mom calls him Teddy for that reason. If she's on the couch, he's there on her lap.

Emmie (now adopted and a permanent member of the family), Jasper and Parker are all watching their mom. Are you asking if Christmas is coming? I can tell you that it is. I know it will be wonderful! If you are interested in adopting Parker, just email us at potomacpekes@gmail.com .

ST. LOUIS PEKES

I just received this update on Mishu-- Her new name is Precious and she is so loved. Her owner started to cry when she called about her. I looks like Miss Precious has her own toy horse. :-) To see the blog for the St. Louis Senior Dog Project, just go to:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Millie is a rescue friend in St. Louis. I haven't met her, but we have the same love of helping these dogs. Here are a mother-son who were rescued. Did that ice fall from the sky? It's cold enough. Their names are Mimi La-Rue and Tank.

Mishu was rescued from a puppy mill and now has a wonderful home where she can be cared for and loved.

Chachi was also rescued. These puppies could have been sent to pet stores or kept to continue breeding. Instead, they were rescued, and now can have wonderful futures.

Chyna was a tiny thing when she was rescued. But, now she'll grow up being loved-- she looks a lot like our Bobby Socks, who is going to his new home next week.

Thank you to Millie and those she works with who diligently help these dogs. I hope they all have a merry Christmas!

He now has three buddies. They are Molly, Sara, and Lucy. I know he loves his new home and he has lots of special walks. He sleeps next to his dad and is his special boy now.

This is one content group of dogs!

CARTER AND BOBBY SOCKS

Wow, Can you believe it's December? Send those doggy Christmas photos!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Little Bobby Socks has recovered from his nose surgery and he is going to his new home next week. His new mom is coming to Richmond to get him. It's good, because Jeanne is getting another foster dog. Latte is coming to her.

Carter is the best player. He plays with Sassy (yesterday's blog) and today he is playing with Bobby Socks.

Carter is so gentle with him- and he's a lot bigger. I don't think Bobby Socks knows that.

"I'm smaller?" Yes, you are.

Get ready! Here they both come!

Bobby Socks is posing for the camera, and Carter wants to play some more.

Or maybe he's all tired out from all that play and he just wants to take a nap. Yes, I'm think he's out!
