BLONDEE/DAISY LOVING LIFE

Blondee now Daisy is doing great.
She has found special spots that she loves.  One is under the staircase. It’s like a little doggy cave.  It’s just right for a bed and toys and a quiet nap.
She is relaxing and has a special relationship w her human sister.
She is getting more clothes, too.  I think pink is her color.
Life has turned around for her.  She has toys and people and all that she needs.  Yes, life is good!

RASCAL-- COOLER WEATHER

Rascal came into rescue in August.   Life had held a lot of changes for him.
He needed a hair cut and he got one-- almost a total shave.  He was too matted to save any of it.
It was warm outside, so that was fine.
His hair has been growing back and he is doing so well with Toni.  She is a very experience Peke owner and foster mom and seems to have a way with these special ones.
I went by to see them briefly.   Outside visit of course.   Rascal was obviously very comfortable with Toni.
He can use a doggy door to go out into the yard that is fenced and private.   There is no where he can get lost.   He hasn't had an accident in a while.
Rascal is 14, he sleeps a lot, and doesn't hear great.   He can be a bit growly, but as long as you are patient, he is a sweet boy.
He had a bath to get ready for Thanksgiving-- I'm sure he hopes the pumpkin pie is for him.  Nope.  But, he can celebrate anyway.    I'm sure he will sleep most of the day anyway.  💓

FANCY—BEHIND THE SCENES.

FANCY
Meet Fancy.
We’ve had Fancy several months but I have posted one picture of her.  Not one.
We were asked to help her.  She was terrified.
She had no idea what was going on.   Her owner had been homeless.
Things must have happened to Fancy.  She was afraid of hands.  She was afraid of people.  She didn't trust anyone.
So, Lisa offered to foster her, and just let her be.   Her bulgy eye terror began to settle some.
She didn't know what it meant for Lisa to just sit by her.
Fancy watched her.  And Lisa didn't hurt her.
So, Fancy learned to relax some.
She decided it was okay to be with the other dogs-- they wouldn't hurt her either.

Fancy asked her foster mom to send me a note.  (Aren't they amazing?)

It said, "Twice I asked foster mom to put me in HER bed last night.  I slept close to her.  She was happy.
I didn't want her to put me down so she put her house coat over my head and picked me up.  I didn't scream either.  I don't like her to leave me where I can't see her.  I bark at her.
I'm sending Aunt Linda a great big hug.”

Fancy has a way to go.  But, she has come so far.  She has been through a lot, but life changed for her when she was saved and came into rescue.   She is learning she is so worth loving.

FAREWELL TAI

Tai came into rescue in 2012.  He was several years old then.
He was a beautiful boy.  He was adopted but returned several months later due to the health of his owner.
Tai loved his boy.
He was a good sport, too.
He was ready to pose with the tree last year.
His coloring was so stunning and his personality was wonderful.
He loved snuggles, squeaky toys, and snuggly beds.
His best doggy friend was Justice.
He was his mommy's heart boy.  They had such a close bond.
Tai became sick suddenly and was taken immediately to the vet.   He declined quickly though, even though everything was done to help him.
Run free, beautiful boy.   You are loved so much.

GRANGER-THE SEASON IS COMING.

Granger has been thinking.  It’s getting cooler and that means Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming.  (For Melinda/Lady Jicky and Yum Yum in Australia, warmer weather means Christmas is coming!).
Granger knows things will be different this year, but we can focus on good things and make happy memories this year.
Granger helped put this reindeer together.   It’s almost time to decorate.   Some people are starting already.   Granger is all for having another four legged friend in the yard.
Granger is listening to holiday music and planning what he’s going to do.   Start sharing your holiday plans and pictures with us. 🌲

MINNIE AT THE VET.

I’ve had Minnie over two years.  She came into rescue w some trauma and she needed a stable place to be.
She doesn’t usually tolerate someone sharing her space.
To each, his or her own bed is the way to go.
Yesterday, Minnie didn’t eat breakfast, which was unusual.  During the day, Sugar Bit (who is five now) came to me to say something was wrong w Minnie.  I checked and thought she was having a bad dream so I picked her up and she seemed better.  Later, she climbed into bed w Sissy.  This was very odd.
She fell asleep w Sissy for awhile—and Sissy didn’t seem to mind.  That was unusual, too.  An hour later, Minnie began seizing.  She tried to walk to me.  Dogs will often try to get to their “safe place”— and I am that for her.   She kept falling and showing seizure symptoms like shaking, stiffness in her legs, eyes moving quickly. She is 15 1/2 so beginning seizures at this age is not good.
I took Minnie to the vet and she stayed awhile.   We did some tests and xrays, but the vet is leaning toward a brain tumor.   I’ve had a lot of seizure dogs, and I know seizures can increase if it’s from a tumor.  I’ll keep rectal Valium here in case she does have a seizure.  We will just try to keep her comfortable.   Care and love will surround her. 💖

YIN BOO AND MIN CHOW.

Yin Boo came into rescue last year   He was a stray in a Maryland shelter.

He needed medical care and he did great.  He was a Foster failure  ❤️  Most of us in rescue have at least one of those.
Min Chow and Yin Boo became good friends.
Yin Boo decided to eat some mulch.   A lot of mulch can be very toxic and Yin Boo was very sick.
With a lot of care, he improved back to good health but he sure scared his mom.
Don’t do that again.  Okay?
Both these boys are so loved. When a dog is a stray, we don’t know what their care has been and we usually have to start from scratch.  And we do.  We do whatever they need thanks to our wonderful supporters.
Yin Boo is so happy and a bit spoiled. 🥰. Aren’t they all? ❤️
