THANKSGIVING COMA

Thanksgiving is over. Are you full?
My dogs are tired.  But they have no reason- they didn’t get special treats.  I guess they're dreaming that they did.
Now to start decorating. The tree is up and ornaments will go on next.
The Christmas Star is up.  It’s old and was made in the Philippines when I was a child. (I lived there four years.)
The mantle is decorated and we even have a fire in the fireplace.
My granddogs didn’t get turkey either.  So sad.

Lily and Dave are just exhausted.  Company and NO turkey.   So deprived.
Hunter participated in the celebrations (no treats) and he still has energy.  How is that possible?!  Puppies!

Have you begun decorating?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PIPER

Piper was my foster in 2013.  He was a young boy.
He loved being on top of things.
He kept us entertained. 🤣. He would get on the couch, on top.  But he didn’t realize that the pillows weren’t one piece. So he started sliding, down down down.  He head was at the bottom.  It didn’t bother him a bit.
He celebrated his 15th birthday this week.   And his family celebrated.
His family includes Emmi who was adopted this year. She wondered what was in the bag.
It was a present for Piper!  🎁
His mom helped him. It was so exciting!
Then he had a dog friendly cupcake. I think it has a turkey on top. 🦃
Happy happy birthday Piper!

A CAMP RUNAMUCK THANKSGIVING

All of us at Camp Runamuck (my home) want to wish you a happy Thanksgiving.  Paddington will want something special.

Cinnamon has been napping.
Callie has claimed my husband’s chair as her own.
Piper is just supervising.  We’ve begun decorating.   Want to relax more this holiday season.
Hunter, being a puppy, will try to be into everything.  He really wants to help. 🤣🐾
Happy Thanksgiving!

RIVER—HAPPY THANKSGIVING

River has been in rescue over a month and has had all her medical finished.

She saw the ophthalmologist and had her labs and vaccines done.  Her dental was also done and she didn’t lose all her teeth. 😁
River is such a sweet senior Peke.  She twirls to go outside.  But she can’t control her bowel movements.  Her foster mom just cleans it up.
She said River’s owner lost a wonderful dog.  Her foster mom said she is the lucky one to have River.
River wants to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

HUNTER MEETS DAVE

Dave is my 90-pound grand dog.  He's a big, goofy young dog.   He was in the shelter 7 months when my daughter adopted him.
I went to her house on Sunday and I took Hunter with me.  I brought a high x-pen because Hunter can jump.
Hunter also met Lily.  She's medium size, and very sweet also.
Hunter and Lily were fine together.
Hunter didn't react to her at all.   They just both walked around the yard.
We let Dave try to play and he really wanted to!  But he's so big and so clumsy that he was just too big to play with.  We decided Hunter might get hurt in the play.   Dave was so disappointed.
Inside, he still wanted to be friends with Hunter.  Poor Dave.
Back at our house, Hunter was exhausted.  Time for a nap!

SOPHIA FRANCESCA- BEACH TIME

Sophia Francesca is a beautiful girl.  Her mom has done so much for this sweet one.   (And I got to meet her last month.)  Sophia had to have major surgery on both front legs and her mom took incredible care of her.
They like to go to the beach in the autumn and just relax.
We've had some nice days in Virginia and Maryland, and this looked like a perfect one.
This is a Santa picture from when she was a puppy.  I hope we get a new one this year.  🐾🐾

HUGO AND SUNDAY

Hugo was adopted by a friend in New York.  She had adopted from us before.  This little boy in New York needed help.  Hugo has become the perfect fit.  Hugo had a play date and he's exhausted.   He had his Ladybug, his Sloth and Cheery the turtle.   He's doing what I'd like to do today.  (Well, I'd prefer the couch, not a dog bed.)   Have a happy, lazy Sunday.

AUTUMN--MAKING FRIENDS

Autumn was a shutdown girl when we got her from the shelter.   We rarely know their story, but we knew hers wasn't good.
She went to Amee's home for fostering.  We've had some of our meetings there.  I love going there at Christmas-- her home is beautiful.   It's all decorated now.
It's a beautiful, calm place, and Autumn could learn to be safe there.
She has begun to go up to the other dogs.
Making friends shows she has made amazing progress.
More are getting involved.
Who is rolling who?  :-)
I love watching them heal and know they are loved.   Autumn, new life has begun.

YOGI-- PLAY TIME!

When Yogi came into rescue, he was a mess, and he was unsure of everything.
We thought he would have to be an only dog, but once he realized he was safe, he found friends.
Here he is with Ray, and they are napping together.  It's so sweet after how he was when he came in.
He has found the other dogs are safe and happy companions.
Shaq looks dangerous-- but he's just getting ready to "attack" and play.  He's a happy energetic boy.
Ray doesn't play as much with him.   But she's still a good friend.  Look at her smile!
Yogi would love to have a friend who would play with him, in a home where he will be cherished.
He deserves that.
