YOGI-- READY!

Look at this precious face.   He is just adorable!
Yogi came into rescue the end of August.  He was a stray, and no one claimed him.   Here he is with Shaq, his friend.   Shaq lives in Yogi's foster home.  They are both so cute!
When Yogi first came into rescue, he was out of sorts with other dogs.   But, with time, he settled down and his fear went away.   He was always friendly with people, but he realized he could have doggy friends, too.  He plays with the other dogs now--tug of war, tumble around with each other, nap together.

Yogi's hair was shaved when he came in, but it's already growing back. (I'll get new pictures to show it.)   He's a little guy, 10-11 pounds.  He is 5 years old.  (I was able to track his microchip.  The owner was contacted, but he didn't want Yogi back.  Sad.)  He's a great little boy.  He's a sweetheart!  If you are interested in adopting. email us at potomacpekes@gmail.com  or fill out the application:

FAREWELL PEACHES

Peaches (formerly Lilo( was born in 2007.   She came to us in 2011 when her family turned her into a shelter.
We found a wonderful home for her.   It looks like she loved boxes, too.
She was such a good girl.   She followed them everywhere.
She liked to stand up and hold her front paws together.   (Maybe she also liked skateboards. 😊 )
Her mom wrote recently that she had passed away.  "We had to say goodbye to Peaches on May 26, 2024 (~16-17 years old) after a year of palliative care following a vestibular event and progressive vestibular symptoms (most likely due to a brain tumor)."
I know Peaches was so comforted by the care and love she received.  Snuggling feels so good to them.
Her mom wrote that she was so grateful to have been able to adopt her.
She said that Peaches was "confident and sweet, dignified and silly. We loved her more than I can describe and are thankful for every day that she was in our lives."
"She is resting between two Tulip Poplar trees and we plan to plant Peach Berry Ice Coral Bells near her next spring."
Thank you for giving her such a beautiful life.  Run free sweet girl.  💜

Peaches was so incredibly loved.

BIRDIE BEA—HAPPY!

Birdie Bea has been in her new home.  Two months.
Birdie Bea loves her new home. She adjusted seamlessly her mom said.  She sleeps in bed w
them and they adore her.
Look close. That’s her new friend Trigger. ❤️  They both eat very healthy and their snacks are, too. Carrots, watermelon, lettuce and other yummy things.
Birdie is such a happy dog.  She is just full of joy.
She is a daddy’s girl.  When he comes home from work, she is so excited!
She goes a lot of places w her mom and dad. Her mom’s hat says, “Hold my drink while I pet this dog”.  A lot of us could wear that hat. lol
Her mom said, “We’re so grateful to have her as part of our family. She’s already so loved. Thank you again for everything!”
All of us in rescue love these updates.  They encourage us to keep going. 🥰

COSTUMES GALORE.

I loved all the pictures of Halloween. 🎃
Zeke was over it quickly. 🤣
Charley Barbou was ready!
And Gayle’s pups were so cute.  #1
#2
#3
#4. 🥰🎃🥰🎃
What are you big boy?
Candace works at my vet. She dressed up and so did her dogs.

My friend Bonnie showed me her guard dog.  He’d out of the picture. He was watching the sheep enjoy a pumpkin feast.
Phyllis sent me this of Penny, Sympjony and Chello checking out the skeletons.  At first. I thought she had more dogs.  ðŸ˜‚
Three homes on my street (including me) sat together to hand out treats.  Our neighbor’s yard was amazing.  So many Halloween decorations. Skeletons (very tall),  big  pumpkin on wheels, a snarling wolf, grave stones.  So much.  The kids loved it.
Melissa’s pup was a cowboy.
A dog pretending to be a dog— or it a bear??
One of Elaine’s pups is ready to do something magical. Oohhh.
Dave and Lily were not too sure about all those critters showing up!
I hope you had a fun time! 🎃🎃

LI LI SAYS HAPPY NOVEMBER!

I was surprised to see that it's been over a year since the Maryland 5 came into rescue.
Time goes fast! Leia was one of the 5.
It's November and she wants to welcome the month that is full of fall colors and then Thanksgiving.
When Leia-- Now Li Li-- needed eye fold surgery.  Her nasal folds were so large that they were rubbing her eyes.
Now she's living in NC and is adored!
She's a happy girl!

She has a lot of doggy siblings now.
Yes, it is the perfect home for her.  We love you Li Li.💜💜
