YOGI-- PLAY TIME!

When Yogi came into rescue, he was a mess, and he was unsure of everything.
We thought he would have to be an only dog, but once he realized he was safe, he found friends.
Here he is with Ray, and they are napping together.  It's so sweet after how he was when he came in.
He has found the other dogs are safe and happy companions.
Shaq looks dangerous-- but he's just getting ready to "attack" and play.  He's a happy energetic boy.
Ray doesn't play as much with him.   But she's still a good friend.  Look at her smile!
Yogi would love to have a friend who would play with him, in a home where he will be cherished.
He deserves that.

FAREWELL MONTY

On Facebook, you meet many people you would never meet without it.
Monty belongs to a Facebook friend of mine.   Her name is Lottie.  And she lives in Denmark.
We've stayed in touch over the years, and I did a blog on him before.    Look at that sweet face!

Must Love Pekes: MONTY BOY

Monty was 15 when she had to let him go.   She said before she had to let him go, "you will travel to the Rainbow Bridge, and you will be the same with Anton, Futte, Kaspar, and Tudse. My heart is going to miss you so much. You were such a good and lovely dog who would talk to anyone you met. You will always be in my heart, and I will never forget you. You were my everything. Thank you for 15 years and 2 months I had with you, my little darling dog. Love you Monty."

Most of us know how hard this is to lose a beloved pet.   I'm so sorry Lotte.

Run free at the Bridge precious boy.  💙

SMOOCHEE AUTUMN

It’s almost Thanksgiving and Smoochee wanted you to see his new autumn sweater.

Robin (his foster mom) has been noticing his ears.
Those ears do look familiar.
Sometimes they go out at the same time. Right turn or left turn?
Definitely a left turn here!
His ears are at rest here.
Finley is his foster brother.  Finley is over twice his size.
Where are his ears this time?  I’m not sure.
Smoochee is tiny at just over 8 pounds.
There isn’t a mean bone in him anywhere.   He is vision and hearing impaired but it doesn’t get in his way.  He sees the ophthalmologist again next week and will have more follow up care.  After that, he will be available for adoption. 😁

TOGETHER- CINNAMON AND PADDINGTON

I think most of us love Cinnamon.
We love her story.
She came to rescue last December and that's why she got the "Cinnamon Cookie" name.
She joined Callie, Piper and Paddington.
She guards the door with Paddington and Piper.
I call them the Three Musketeers.
From the time Cinnamon came, she loved these two.
But when she came into rescue last year.....
even though she loved Piper, too......
even though she often laid with both of them....
She loved Paddington the best.
She followed him.
She can't see well, but she could find Paddington.   Paddington was like her seeing eye dog.
She didn't seek Piper or Callie.
It was always Paddington.    He is her protector.
They are often touching.
Cinnamon definitely chose Paddington.  And maybe it's because he chose her.   He doesn't usually do that.  In fact, he's never done that.   But Paddington adores her.   I love that.  💜💙

CHU CHU “CHEWY”--MAMA'S BOY

Chu Chu "Chewy" was part of the Maryland 5.  All the dogs had Star Wars names-- Chewbacca, Leia, Padme, Jabba, and Rey.  You all know Jabba-- he's now Tolstoy  "Toasty."
He was adopted last year and now lives in NC with a Peke loving family.
He was at my house for a while before he went to Richmond for fostering.
Chewy has a little sister (who is older and adorable) and they get along.   But he would like a playing friend.  We are keeping our eyes out for a Peke for them.
He is a Mama's boy.   Both his parents work from home, so he's rarely alone.  That's awesome.
All of the Maryland 5 were so sweet.  The whole group was beautiful.   Just wait Chewy-- I'm looking for a girlfriend for you.  💜

HUNTER-- TIGGER?

Hunter has been w me over a week.
He came to rescue -- and like most, there were things we could do to help him.  His bloodwork is getting better.  We are still working on housetraining but he's making progress.
I'm seeing some definite resemblance to Tigger.   You know-- the bouncy, trouncy,,,

The more I've read it, the more it sounds like Hunter.  LOL
"The wonderful thing about tiggers
Is tiggers are wonderful things!
Their tops are made of rubber,
Their bottoms are made of spring! (Yes, Hunter can BOUNCE!)
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy,
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun...but, (Hunter's tail is always wagging, and he wants  fun!  And love!)
The wonderful things about tiggers is:
I'm the only one, I'm the only one.
Hunter LOVES attention.  He loves to be on your lap. But… he can also be part kangaroo and part octopus.   He can whirl and run, walk right by your feet and get in the way.  He is so busy!!  (Still kind of like Tigger.)  He is a puppy after all.  He could be anywhere from 6 months to 9 months.  There’s no way to tell.   He’s all puppy energy.
Good thing he’s so sweet. If you need help, he’s right there.  Did I mention he's RIGHT THERE?
Need the sheets changed?  He’s your guy.
Hunter was so timid at first but now he’s getting more secure and he raids the toy container.
He isn’t a Tigger-kangaroo-octopus all the time. A lot of the time,  he’s quiet and calm, and he’s a sweetheart.  Puppies do have to rest.  Good boy Hunter. 🥰🐾
