Tulip (Tinsel) and Percy (Nicholas) were in the first group of the Christmas rescue. They arrived on December 23, just in time for Christmas.
I had them both here (plus 9 others) for awhile. I found out that Tulip didn’t like to be separated from us. They had stayed at the vet over Christmas getting immediate medical care and evaluation. They each had a number and the group was called Snow. They came to my home and we were able to get their spay/neuter and dentals done. Tulip’s incision began to open and she ended up having a second surgery. I found out that dogs who are malnourished can have thinner layers of skin, so the incision didn’t have strong skin to stitch. The second surgery had more reinforcement and she healed well. (Several in this group had healing issues due to malnutrition .)They have been in their forever home for awhile now. At first, going through doors was scary! (Mistletoe still has to be carried if I go into a guest room she is not familiar with. Then she’s okay.)
Tulip and Percy joined Penny who is an old girl now. She’s a PVPC alumni and she is eating better and is more active since they arrived. 🥰. They are both very loving and sweet. Percy does have a special fondness for Penny and he will go snuggle w her. They enjoy going for walks and are making progress about seeing other people and dogs. One step at a time.
They both have a life that is full of love. It’s a beautiful forever home. 🥰
