Like many of you, I lost a beloved family member this year. Callie, who thought she was a Peke, lived a long, happy life. She was always the mama dog when new fosters came. She was so gentle with them. I am going to show pictures of some we lost this year. Most of you know their stories, but if you are the one who had them, this is to honor them and to also honor you for the life you gave them. If you want to put more of their story in the comments, please share about them. If I missed your pet, please put them in the comments.
Each one is so special.
Dash, Cha Cha and Poncho all came to our rescue. They lived happily together. Cha Cha was the last to leave. She died in February of 2025. They had a wonderful family and so much love.
River came from a rural NC shelter. She was blind and ill. She was older but just perfect for her foster mom. She adopted River and had 9 joyful months w her before River died in her sleep. She was cherished those 9 months.
Phyllis: My sister Melissa lost Symphony. Symphony was struggling with severe dementia for many months. She had a stroke on December 23 and my sister had to let her go. This little girl lit up my sisters life and she is terribly missed by my sister and her brother Cello.

We will meet at the Rainbow Bridge.
I told my grand daughter who is 15 about the Rainbow Bridge.... she had never heard of it but she said it was very comforting to know our dear Pets/family will be there waiting for us.
Its New Years Eve right now in Australia and Yum Yum and I wish you all a Wonderful and Happy New Year 2026 !!! XXX
We have an actual Rainbow Bridge in North Carolina. A rainbow-painted bridge in North Carolina was a symbolic place for pet owners to leave collars and tags of their deceased animals. It just recently was replaced as it was damaged during a storm this past spring. It has been rebuilt and is very pretty again.
Our three precious babies we adopted from PV Rescue -- Dashie, Poncho and ChaCha were so very loved and were able to travel with us in our motor coach on our long trip to 17 states in April/May of 2018. We have so many memories of them and miss them so much. We will never forget the love they shared with us.
