PIPER AND PADDINGTON
Seven years ago today, Piper and Paddington came into rescue.
They were beautiful dogs. Piper wasn't a Peke, but he was Paddington's best friend and we couldn't separate them. DNA tests later showed that Piper is 2% Pekingese-- so he does fit in!They have been with us 7 years, Cinnamon has been here 2 years (December 10, 2023) and Dickens has been here for a year (December 23, 2024. I think they are an adorable pack. Paddington was very confused at first, but Piper was with him, so he was okay.
This is the day I got them. I thought Piper was much bigger from the picture, but he is barely 13 pounds. Paddington was looking to Piper for reassurance. Piper and Paddington sleep together (of course all four are on the bed), they eat side by side, and they both welcomed Cinnamon when she came. (They are all waiting patiently for dinner-- except Cinnamon in the back, so is "singing" for her supper.)
Cinnamon was one scared little girl. But Paddington took over and it really helped her.
She was underweight, her hair was thin and short, her tail was little, no long hair then. Next month, Piper will be 11 and Paddington will be 10. (We have their actual birthdays. We guess that Cinnamon is 10 or so. And we think Dickens is 11 or more. So, we just made March the birthday for all of them.
Paddington is Cinnamon's best buddy. Of course, you all know that. He has NEVER gotten mad at her-- no bad Pad moments with her. LOL
I groomed them yesterday and Paddington is showing off his fluffy self. Happy "welcome day" Piper and Paddington. Daddy asked for you both when you came-- the first time he ever did that in all the years I've done rescue. We are so happy that he did!
