SUNNY—A FRIEND TO MANY.

Remember Sunny?
This sweet boy came to rescue in may of 2020.  He was heartworm positive and had lived outside in a pen w big dogs.  He did great though w his treatment and became a permanent part of the family.  And even though he lived outside, he somehow knew how to be housetrained.
He loves the other animals there. Here he is w Magic, a Westie.
A tiny puppy joined the family and Sunny helped care for him.
A giant of a dog. ❤️ Tiny Tum was only .4 pounds but now he’s 4 pounds.
Sunny has come so far in his new life.  He loves his new home.  It’s definitely a place where love is everywhere.  He could not have found a better place.  RESCUE. ❤️

ROCCO AND MOXIE.

Moxie was turned into rescue over a year ago.  She had mobility issues.
Of course we would take her.   She was supposed to be older but we love them all.  Her foster mom had adopted before.
She adopted Rocco seven years ago.  A foster fail.  I love those.
Moxie was also a foster fail.   I’ve had them, too.   Most of us have.  Moxie is so precious.
Rocco loves his family.
It’s been about a year since Moxie joined the family.   These two dogs have a wonderful family thanks to Potomac Valley Pekingese Club and all who help us.  Rescue is life changing for these little ones. ❤️❤️

TUK TUK AND FRIENDS COME TO VISIT

TUK TUK
Tuk Tuk is 6 months old now.   He’s losing his puppy fuzz.
Tuk Tuk and Granger (above) and Gigi came to visit.  My daughter and her husband were off to visit my granddaughter who just began college.
Tuk Tuk is still full of energy.  Three more dogs made this a VERY. FULL. BUSY. HOUSE.  OH MY GOODNESS.
You can see his fuzzy head but the rest of him is getting a soft and shiny coat.
Tuk Tuk slept in a small xpen at night.   He would have rather run around all night, but puppies need rest.
During the day, he was busy.
Gigi said sleeping is awesome.  Tuk Tuk disagreed.  ðŸ¤£
Tuk Tuk is home now.   Maybe he will rest.  Maybe not! 😂😳

They sat in the back of their car to just absorb the peace around them.

BUTTERS AND OLIVIA-ENJOYING SATURDAY.

Olivia and Butters are two seniors in our rescue.
I haven’t met them in person but I know this is Butters w his belly band.  He needs ear and eye drops.  He is 14.5 pounds and was taken to a shelter by his owner.  He loves his food and would try to get Olivia’ if he could.  He is on a special diet, but Olivia gets chicken.   Butters can smell it. 😄
Both of them are very sweet and neither has barked since we got them.
Olivia wonders why Butters has her bed.  She’s going to state him down.  Both of them are very gentle.  They came in separately so aren’t a bonded pair.  They look so similar that they look like they are related.  ❤️
If you have a heart for a special one, one of these dogs might be perfect for you. Just email us at potomacpekes@gmail.com.

HAPPY ONE YEAR ZOEY 💖

Zoey came into rescue w Rascal in August of 2020. Their owner died and the three dogs were given up by the family.  (The third dog went back to the rescue he came from.)
Zoey has little hair on her back end and her tail.  Her back feet were stiff and she didn’t walk well.
We put her on good food. She had a dental to remove her only three teeth.  Her lower jawbone was gone, dissolved by infection.
But, don’t feel bad for her.  She rallied.  She had a victory spirit.
Her hair grew back.  She walked around the yard and her back legs grew stronger.
She loved to find little places to rest.
I went on a weekend trip w my husband.  Guess who went w us. 💖
Zoey had an adoption that fell through.  So, she stayed.  She’s deaf.  Her minimal sight has diminished.   The lens in her only eye has gotten worse in the last six months. But, she sees enough to follow me.  Or I find her.   She loves to be held, she sleeps in our bed.   She is about 14 or more now.   She will live the rest of her life here.   This sweet girl will continue to have a home w us.
She’s loved. She’s content.  She’s a sweetheart. 💖💕

HAPPY ONE YEAR RASCAL.

Rascal came into rescue in august of 2020.
He came into rescue with Zoey after their mom died.
They had been given minimal care    He had to be shaved down.  Even his tail.
He wasn’t too sure about all the changes so a crate became his safe  hidey hole.
Toni had offered to foster him.  She’s so good.
He began to trust her.
He was 14–I think that’s right.   He had a dental quickly.  He really needed one.
Dickson said, “welcome to the family,”.
Rascal relaxed and felt safe.  Toni fell in love w him.  And look at his coat!
There was just something special about this little old man.
Toni adopted Rascal because she couldn’t think of letting him go.  He’s a very lucky boy!
Yes, I think he knows it.  Happy one year (plus a little) adopt-adversary
