BED HEADS

Snuffles posted his bed head picture and
I asked you for yours.
(Michelle’s Peke).  You responded a lot!
Bandit’s mom posted this. I’m not sure who the other one is but he/she is sure cute. Those eyes. ❤️
Essie is cute. 💕
Toby has some hair! Gorgeous.
Mitzie Mo —I just love the older ones.
Oscar looks good but a wind might be coming.  And I love that he has a harness on.  Collars and leashes might not be good on a Peke’s neck.
Betty Boop.  Oh my goodness.   A baby. ❤️
Marlene’s Peke looks like he/she was just awakened.
Marshall I don’t see a bed head here.  Are you getting ready to get one? 😉
Tim’s Peke.  Yep . Bed head.  😜
Beverly’s Peke. Are you sure that’s bed head. Or is the humidity just really low and electric. Adorable.  😳
Lisa’s pups - is bedhead coming?
Boo looks a little grumpy from being awakened — bed head for sure. 🤣
Lilly is definitely headed toward bed head. 😄
Gracie - it’s beginning! 💕
Cooper. Has a bed head beginning. He reminds me of one of the Pekes I used to have.  That touched my heart. ❤️
Floki has it going. 😆

Duke is planning on a bed head. 🛏️
Jackson has a bed head starting. But if the wind hits… 💨
Bonnie’s Peke looks very cute.
Leo definitely has a bed head.  Is he Toasty’s cousin? Oh my!  ❤️
Maggie is adorable but she is too lady like to have a serious bed head. 💕
Zu Zu is trying to have a serious bed head. ❤️
P
Diesel and Spotty.  I don’t think Spotty can compete. But Diesel has it going.
Claudia’s Peke is adorable.  That bow really helps. 💕
Chester says “Time for a nap!”

I tried to post all your pictures. If I missed one, please post in the comments.  Thank you for sharing your beautiful pups!

SUNDAY OFF?

A friend sent me this picture.  I thought “that’s a pile of laundry.”   And then I laughed!   I guess there was a little helper in there.  My question is this.  Did Bandit fold all the laundry?   These Pekes need to earn their keep.  😂🤣

TRYING TO WRITE

 CINNAMON AND MISTLETOE

Cinnamon is a sweetheart.  She trusts me.  She's not comfortable with other people unless they're in my family.  New people terrify her.
I was trying to get computer work done today.   But, I was interrupted by dogs' antics.
Cinnamon was in rare form.  She's usually quiet, but not yesterday.   She decided to play with Mistletoe.

Cinnamon kept dancing in front of her.   And after a while, Mistletoe started bouncing around, and they both did circles.  I recorded it and put the video on Facebook.  I was really amazed that Cinnamon wanted to play.  Dickens tried to join in, tail wagging.
Later, they both came into the office and got on the couch.   The play continued.
I hope it happens again-- it was adorable.

BELLE— ALL BETTER

Belle, and her brother Oliver, were part of the Christmas rescue.  Belle became very sick and had a lot of care in her foster home.  But as of yesterday, her medical care is finished. 🥰
Her brother Oliver is doing great, too.
They have become part of a happy Peke family- and 3 are from PVPC. This is Sadie Mae.  She’s a tiny one.
Belle and Oliver mix w the other dogs and all of them get along so well.
Oliver and his new friend Teddy like just hanging out together.
Belle is home from her spay surgery and her picture doesn’t show you her happy wagging tail!  They are in their forever home. ❤️

POLEN IS HERE

Kringle was helping his mom in the garden.  He looks so good.  His mom has done such a great job in helping him heal.
She noticed he has a golden glow. It was pollen!
Kris, now Eddie, has itches.  The pollen gets walked on. Then the dogs lick their paws and ingest the pollen. Ugh. Some dogs take 1/2 a Zyrtec.  Some take apoquel.  Some get a cytopoint shot to help w allergies.  (Of course, always consult w your vet.).
Mistletoe (who is sitting on dog laundry) gets itchy w the spring things growing.  She hops around in the ivy and border grass.  And leaves. We have many trees and she brings them in on her tail. Yay.
Gidget is peeking around the door. Are you hiding from pollen? 😜 I would if I could.
Dickens skin is still healing and I hope the pollen doesn’t make it worse.   I’ll be glad when we get rain and it washes away.  The dogs will be glad, too.

OUR 2026 CALENDAR CALL

                                                      2026 CALENDAR

It's that time of year.   The planning for the 2026
calendar is beginning.  And we're looking for pictures.
Does your Peke want to be a star?  (Tuk Tuk
has been a star 🌠 in our calendars.)
(Lex and Dallas were in our 2024 calendar.⭐)   We have an open call to submit pictures between April 1 and May 31 for anyone who wants to participate.
(Piper and Paddington have been stars 🌟.)   Your Peke/Pekes photos should be in color.  (Also make sure you have a "clean" background.   You don't want clutter or strange backgrounds to be there.  It would distract from your dog's beauty. 😉 Make sure your photo isn't blurry.   If you want to provide multiple photos of the same dog, or photos that include multiple dogs, that's fine, too.

There is no charge to you and if your photo is selected, you will receive a free calendar.   If you have any questions or want to send a picture, send it to Barbara at barbarahoney@hotmail.com

Maybe your Peke will be in our next calendar!  🎆

THE LIFE OF DICKENS

Dickens has come a long way since we got him in January.
He has gained a little weight and we’re trying to get a little more on him.    He loves toys now.  A few are his favorites but any will do. He finds one and his tail starts going.  The joy in him is so evident.
When he came into rescue, he was in such rough shape.  So seeing him improve is a blessing. (That’s Mistletoe and Winter behind him.)
He is a good eater and this is his Fluff Trough bowl.  He doesn’t have to lean over to eat. And he licks up every bit.
When it’s nice, we hang out on the porch.  He carries his toys out there, too.  I wonder if he ever had toys. He has all he wants now.
I know some of you recognize this shirt. Several of my fosters have worn it.  Dickens IS a big deal.
He still has skin issues and I’m still doing therapy to help his legs.  But his happy spirit is fully there.
He’s just part of the gang. 🥰
