BENTLEY—WEST VIRGINIA 6

Bentley is one of the West Virginia 6.  Look at that sweet face.
A woman (who I now consider a friend) saw them and began to feed them.
How they survived almost 2 months in the cold high mountains is a miracle.
I know they all had to be so confused when they were finally caught- which is another miracle in itself.   We think Bentley has some Pug in him. He’s just adorable and about 13 pounds.
There were coyotes in the area they were dumped.
And this bear didn’t know he should have been hibernating.
They all went to my vet and received immediate care. Then we did all the tests we do on each new one— full bloodwork, urinalysis, vaccines  and a tick panel. We guessed all the dogs except Brock were under a year old.
Bentley went to his foster home with TD, a PVPC alumni.
TD was doing a little play bow.
Bentley felt so safe with his foster mom, Sonia that he fell asleep in her arms.
Sonia and Joe are long time fosters and have so much Pekingese knowledge.
I was really surprised that all the dogs were friendly—
shy but they welcomed attention. We expected them to be almost feral.
Once Bentley is neutered, he will be available for adoption.  His foster parents are working in house training. For now, he uses a belly band.  He is going to blossom.

I am so glad they all have lovely personalities and not a sign of feral for this will be so easier to get them all adopted!
