THE KINGDOM OF SNACKINGTON

My grandson asked me to write a story. He gave me his ideas and I thought they were great! So, here goes.

Cinnamon is an honorary member of the Kingdom of Snackington. (My daughter's home)

I told my grandson that she needed an official title.

She became a foreign diplomat from the Republic of Camp Runamuck.

Every kingdom needs a king or a queen. So, Finley became King Finley of Snackington. He took over from Barty. (I just did a DNA blog on him.)

He is regal like a King. He has the look of a king.

There was a full ranking in the Kingdom. Cinnamon is a visitor there and isn't bothered by anything as long as I'm close.

King Finley isn't phased by her at all. He has other things on his mind besides worrying about a tiny dog.. He would rather beg for meal bits.

Next in rank is Lily. She is busy! She has so much to do.

First, she is the Secretary of Defense. She was checking out the fence that cover the pool steps. She loves the pool, and there is a raft in there just for her. She enjoys floating around on it.

But Barty isn't safe, so the fence is there. Barty doesn't see or hear well, and he can occasionally go up steps. The fence and Lily, the Secretary of Defense protect him. The Kingdom of Snackington is a thriving city of trade and militarization. Lily is busy!

Lily is also the Crown Princess. She is the only girl dog who lives there. So, the title was easy to give her.

Two jobs aren't enough for this princess. She is also the Prime Minister of Snackington. I just don't know how she finds the time.

Princess Lily does have time to take a break on occasion.

The Kingdom of Snackington is in "the northern part of the house." It's where the dogs are fed. Barty THINKS he can eat in there. But it's an epic fail. He's kind of a chow hound, so he has to eat by himself.

Now, Barty (also Barry, also Cornelius, the first King of Snackington) is banished from the Kingdom aka the food room. His mom (my daughter) said he couldn't eat there because he wanted to eat all the food. A civil war could have occurred among the dogs-- I mean the high ranking officials: King Finley, Crown Princess Lily, and Barty.

Barty hasn't been banished completely. He can go to the rest of the kingdom. And he was given a new title since he is no longer the king. He is now the Honorary High Sheriff. He has no power, but the title sounds nice. :-)

Life is good at the Kingdom of Snackington.

Review of the roles each dog plays:

Finley is King of the Kingdom of Snackington and future Prince Governor of any occupied lands. (Finley has passed away, so he is no longer the King of Snackington.)

Lily is Crown Princess, the Secretary of Defense, and Prime Minister. (Wow. Busy lady.)

Barty, Barry or Cornelius, former King and now High Sheriff. (Due to his age, hearing and sight issues, he has stepped down from being King.)

Granger, Supreme Chief of the McKnight home. We are calling them the Williamsburg Colonials. They are a colony under Camp Runamuck.

Tuk Tuk, Governor under Granger.

Paddington, president of Camp Runamuck.

Cinnamon, Vice President of Camp Runamuck and Chief Ambassador. She has visited Snackington, and now has a title there-- Foreign Diplomat from Camp Runamuck.

Piper, increasingly powerful Ambassador of Camp Runamuck.

CAMP RUNAMUCK UNDER ATTACK

Piper and Paddington are asking, "WHAT IS GOING ON?"

There is so much noise out there. And trucks. And people.

Cinnamon was panting. Change and noise make her so nervous.

Callie was drooling. Trazadone was given.

Cinnamon's ears went back, but I held her next to me on the couch and she calmed down.

Why are we under attack?!

Roofers have arrived. There is so much noise, so many people, and the porch door to the yard is blocked. People are on our house!

Piper had meds to calm down. He's my nervous boy.

The old roof is off, and the noise is less. Now the dogs are resting. The roof should be finished this evening and all will be quiet again.

I guess we weren't under attack at all. We're just trying to make the house better. It will be calmer soon.

EMPEROR YUM YUM--SNACKINGTON OR CAMP RUNAMUCK

Emperor Yum Yum of Australia read the Snackington blog-- and he just had to respond.

Emperor Yum Yum of Australia has been talking to Australia's Prime Minister.

They decided that they must defend their American cousins.

Emperor Yum Yum is used to being in charge. He has supervised the mowing.

He has given directions on painting. He is IMPORTANT.

I wonder if Emperor Yum Yum has been to the Royal Exhibition Building. I'm sure he has.

Has he seen a Koala Bear? That would be a must.

Since Emperor Yum Yum is very important, I'm sure he has visited many places in Australia.

Yum Yum is seriously considering the ramifications of this Snackington/Camp Runamuck problem.

Yum Yum knows Australia has a long history of alliance to the USA but ..... and this is the Emperor's problem -

He knows that as a Commonwealth country, they should probably make the Kingdom of Snackington their partner since they have the King of England .

But... (This is Camp Runamuck)

Yum Yum and his mom have been great friends for a long time, so they need to be very diplomatic! The Emperor is wondering to whom he should send his boomerangs to. The Kingdom of Snackington or Camp Runamuck???

Parliament is still in debate and it could go long into the night! There is one thing Emperor Yum Yum could be convinced to send his weapons to the Kingdom of Snackington. That one thing would be that the former King and now High Sheriff, Barty, should be returned to be King of Snackington. The Emperor feels King Finley should abdicate and bring the old fellow back!!

* Being Emperor Yum Yum's Foreign Secretary (Melinda) is exhausting and difficult. You try telling a Pekingese what he should do!

Melinda has to cater to her boy!

THE KINGDOM OF SNACKINGTON- #2

(Any relation to any current or past news is completely unintended. After all, my grandson came up with the story line. I wrote about the Kingdom of Snackington with his ideas and I put it into blog form.)

Tensions between the Republic of Camp Runamuck and the Kingdom of Snackington were at an all-time high due to different ideologies about toys. (picture above of this dangerous Kingdom)

Soldiers ordered by Lord Tuk Tuk (a puppet governor of Supreme Chief, Granger) stole toys from Snackington before arriving in the kingdom. (Sneaky little thing)

Ambassador Cinnamon of Runamuck, now Vice President, tries to calm the government of Snackington. However, Snackington doesn't want to hear it.

Day one: Cinnamon had to report back to President Paddington, informing him of the crisis. He recommended a trial for those responsible. (Cinnamon is in her armored car.)

Cinnamon tried to get reinforcements from Camp Beth, a satellite base, but they wanted to remain neutral.

Satellite Camp Australia also wanted to remain neutral. Yum Yum is the Emperor of the Suburb. Every evening he walks the street waving his tail at his subjects. LOL

"I'm not coming to help!"

However, Crown Princess Lily orders a general mobilization and closes the border between the lands. Camp Runamuck was watching closely, the Kingdom of Snackington was mobilizing for war, the criminals haven’t been punished and Runamuck is out of ideas.

ROCKY-- COURT JESTER IN SNACKINGTON?

ROCKY
Rocky is on his way to the Chubby Mullet. He knows everyone there and they know him. If his mom comes without him, she is reprimanded. He is the mascot after all.
Rocky got his mom in the corner after hearing about the conflict between Snackington and Camp Runamuck. He asked her to contact King Finley to arrange an audience.
Rocky had a serious talk with his mom. He wanted to apply to be a court jester on Snackington/Runamuck land.
He can entertain people, be silly, and get toys. He can also whisper secrets (or clean your ears).
Rocky says the Kingdom needs a Court Jester and he would like to apply for the position. Things can get entirely too serious, so he wants to go to both areas-- and also to the Williamsburg Colonials-- to entertain.
He can make people feel better in all the camps. He says he's a great "guard" and can let you know if the enemy approaches. I'm not sure how well he would be a guard because he really wants to remain neutral and just visit each place to boost their spirits.
Rocky can change the channels for you if you need him to. He's multi-talented. People really want the Kingdom of Snackington and Camp Runamuck to just get along. But, you know how that goes. 😏

GIDGET AND CAMP FOX HUNTER

GIDGET

Gidget was my foster girl in 2022. She was adopted and now lives at Camp Fox Hunter, a farm in the country.

Her mom messaged me and said, "Gidget has been reading these blogs and is very intrigued by all of this. She told me that just because she lives on her farm with the crazy Shih Tzu sisters, she should be a part of Snackington by proxy.

Maggie Mae is one of her sisters. She is so cute! I love her top knot. :-)

Marliee is Maggie Mae's daughter. They were both rescued by their mom.

Allie Mae is the third Shih Tzu there. Oh my they are all adorable. I just want to hug them.

Allie Mae has been hearing the Snackington/Runamuck "conversations" and she heard that Gidget wants to be part of Snackington. I think her loyalty should be with Camp Runamuck since she lived her for a while. Don't you agree?

I think Paddington feels that way too. After all Camp Runamuck is where it all began.

That Gidget is something. But we need to get her to change to the Camp she is from. What do you say Gidget? 😁

GRANGER OF WILLIAMSBURG

GRANGER

Supreme Chief of the Williamsburg Colonials

Granger is 11. He has heart issues and takes 4 medications. He also has syncope episodes. Syncope (fainting, collapsing) occurs when a dog’s brain is not getting enough oxygen. In Granger this is because of his heart issues. He recovers soon as his heart slows down and he breathes better. .

Granger loves card board boxes. But a shelf rack will do.

He thinks we can’t see him.

Granger is watching all that is going on w Snackington and Runamuck.

Sometimes he needs to lay down. It’s exhausting watching the younger participants acting up. A nap is refreshing! And with our very hot temperatures it’s a nice break from the heat.

SNACKINGTON AND RUNAMUCK CONTINUES

In the early hours of the morning, Granger orders a mobilization of his own.

He looks like he's sleeping on the job. 😉

Soon Cinnamon hears about this.

She sends an ever growing, powerful Piper to speak to ....

...Granger about this act.

He confers with Toasty about all this.

Cinnamon tries again for a peaceful solution trying to get delegates from the nations to come up with a plan. I don't think it's working.

Neither nation responded to this recommendation. That same day, King Finley......

....named Lily as Commander of the Armed Forces."

Granger calls upon allies within his neighborhood to defend their homes.

Lily calls local allies of her own to mobilize and defend against the threat of “enemies to the peace lovers within the world.”

Stay tuned for more of the Snackington/Runamuck chaos. LOL

We continue the saga of Snackington and Camp Runamuck-- we sometimes talk about the Williamsburg Colonials, a part of Camp Runamuck. I've included the "jobs" of the dogs of Camp Runamuck and Kingdom of Snackington at the bottom of this blog.

Cinnamon is out of ideas, war is very likely, but she isn’t willing to have her nation fight. She wants peace.

She has been conferring with Toasty on her visit to the Kingdom of Snackington.

He is brilliant-- can you see that?

However, Cinnamon remembers an agreement made by Runamuck’s previous leader, Pom Pom....

and Granger about a military alliance between the republics.

Paddington orders a military mobilization of his own.

Cinnamon couldn’t believe that the nations are on the verge of war. It's so disheartening.

Grangers army under Tuk Tuk, moves into the house.

Snackington has a show of strength. Soon there is an army under the leadership of a neighborhood ally appointed by Lily. You can see that she is working hard.

This army and Tuk Tuk's army were closing in by the front door.

A few minutes earlier, Camp Runamuck declared war on Snackington. Prince Piper's army, along w Tuk Tuk’s, nearly encircled the Kingdom of Snackington. Piper is getting a head rub to help him think.

Soon Tuk Tuk ordered a retreat away from the house. This may not have been a big battle at all, but it paved the way for the war to come. How fast can they run to the trees.

Now we wait for what happens next. It's a mystery. I have heard that ship building is going on as part of the new defense.

It looks a little scary!

FAREWELL BARTY

BARTY--MY GRANDDOG

Barty was rescued from a shelter by my daughter, Molly. He was in horrific shape-- so very sick that I was surprised they didn't put him down after I reviewed his records. But he was SO HAPPY, regardless of his health. He was carrying his hamburger when he was found.

Molly fostered him for the shelter near us and he improved amazingly well. When it was time, she couldn't let him go. He became hers.

He had been obese at 33 pounds-- and he was down to a healthy weight of 20 pounds. Slightly smaller meals, over time will help a dog so much.

Barty couldn't see or hear well, but he was happy to try anything.

My grandson gave Barty several nick names. He was part of the Snackington blogs. One was "Barty, High Reeve of Snackington" (sheriff). Another was "Cornelius Bartholomew of Snackington the Third." He was also "Sir Barty of Snackington." He had so many nicknames.

He was best friends with Callie (who ended up deciding to live at my house-- my husband adores her).

Another friend was Lily. She's the Secretary of Defense at Camp Snackington.

Finley was his big friend. He's big, but sweet.

Barty was older when he was rescued, and his health had not been good, but he kept going.

His hearing and sight declined. (He is here with my Sissy.)

He loved his home-- celebrating every day with his family.

He thought he was looking out the window.

He had arthritis, but still was able to get around.

That changed and he was limping more and more. Last week-end, he declined quickly.

It was time.

He couldn't move anymore, and he wasn't comfortable. So, my daughter held him and loved on him when it was time. His presence will be greatly missed by her. She had him for 5 years, but it seemed much longer-- for Barty it was a life of love.

Farewell, Barty. You were a great little man. We all loved you. 💙
