Rescue is a labor of love. You can love so many wonderful dogs. And you watch them go from timid and afraid….To being so relaxed that they almost slide off the arm of the couch. 🥰W some that look so much alike, I have to initial the bowls. It keeps me straight. lol
I’ve been at the vet A LOT the past few weeks. And I’ve had several urgent appointments w the vet. The new group of Pekes we have is the largest group PVPC has ever helped with. Getting files set up, registering all the microchips, making appointments, washing dogs, giving meds…. I’m not the only one helping. We have some incredible fosters homes and several have taken in extra dogs so that they could have a chance at the life they should have had all along. My own dogs have been so good. They’re not used to sharing w so many. Some of the new ones will move to other foster homes this week.
Two cone heads w their tongues out. So cute. We had four surgeries last week. We still have eye appointments and dentals to go.
They’re all making progress, making themselves at home and even trying to balance sit on the edge of the couch. Silly boy. Rescue is hard. And rewarding. And full of love. It changes lives- dogs and people. It’s been a gift to be part of it for so many years. ❤️
