I know there must be some dogs that I haven't put in the "remembrance blogs" so please add them to the comments. There are so many who have blessed our lives. I remember them all.
Tinsley. I won’t forget his story. He lived outside all year round in the mountains of Virginia. A neighbor finally said she’d report owner if he didn’t give him to her. She turned him over to us. He was a forever foster.
Romey, one of the Bristol 18. He passed away from cancer. He was his mom’s heart and soul. Daniel 2021 was with rescue a short time. I picked him up from a shelter and noticed his eyes were "off" like they were partly crossed. We have dealt with all kinds of eye issues, so I wasn't worried. He went to his foster home and did fine. Then one day, he began to seize over and over and over. He began medications. But, one night they called me. He was non stop seizing. I'm 2 hours away but my vet at that time was open 24-7. He stayed the night and the vet did everything he could. The seizure activity would not stop. His foster dad-- his real dad-- drove back, so he could hold him to say good-bye. I remember him saying, "You were adopted." He truly loved this boy. I meet incredible people in rescue--
Ralo was in need 3 years ago. He was 13 at the time, and older in many ways. He was adopted by his family and he lived three years with them. The care they gave him was amazing-- He was so lucky to have them. He passed away last week. Peanut came from a shelter and was adopted by this family also. Peanut was in rough shape, but that all changed. He loved his family and they loved him. He passed away in his sleep in 2021. Petey was Peanut's brother.
Sugar Annie was a beautiful little one. She was in a Virginia shelter and we took her into rescue. She was with a sweet couple who could see how much love she had to give.
Matilda was blind when we rescued her. She had cataract surgery and it worked! She was a beautiful little girl.
Chip's Moe -- Elwood's brother. I met him many years ago when I took Elwood to meet him. They were fast friends immediately! It was awesome to watch.
Matilda was blind when we rescued her. She had cataract surgery and it worked! She was a beautiful little girl.
Jay Jay's mom fostered Jay Jay and then adopted him. He was so temperamental that she knew she had to keep him. She said, “Oh Jay Jay. He was such a challenged boy. Loved him so much. Was able to work through his crippling fear aggression. Later on, he was in a k9cart because of back problems. Pretty Penny helped teach him how to be part of the pack.”Moe was a senior when he joined Jay Jay's family. “Moe. What a sweet old gentleman. Adopted him when he was 14. Brought him home and it was love at first site for Penny. Lived to be 16.5. His body just shutdown.”
Pudgie and Schmoo-- these two were so special when they came in. Pudgie had a bad eye that was removed. Schmoo was missing a vertebra and had no bowel control. His foster parents/adopted parents did an amazing job taking care of him. He wore diapers all the time except when he was outside. They are both gone now-- but they had a wonderful home.
I will continue to honor the pictures you've shared-- more blogs coming. Each of your Pekes is special.
