PADDINGTON CONFUSED

Moving day was so confusing to the dogs.  First, I locked them on the porch.  I couldn’t risk them escaping w all the doors open.   The move had begun.
The truck arrived. It says North American but the company was The Other Moving Company in Virginia.  (They do local and long distance.  Our move would be all in one day.). They were fantastic!!
The furniture was emptied and I was the packer. lol.  (Very different from all the military moves my entire life.) But most of the clothes, dishes etc are still at our first house.  It will be moved slowly over the next few months until the final move.  There won’t much in that move.
Gwennie was so confused by the empty bookshelf that was moved to the kitchen.  The office was going to be a safe zone for the dogs.
Piper kept hiding.  The noise and movers were terrifying for him. He is the one who is very attached to me and is sensitive to new things.) He had meds before the movers came but it didn’t make much difference. 😢
I had a plexiglass piece at the office door, so they could still see us.  Dickens was so desperate to find me that he managed to get a small opening so he could search for me.
When the movers were done, the dogs came out.  Paddington was so confused. “You locked me in the office and look what happened!  Your furniture was stolen!”
The last pieces had been removed.
The piano was last to go in the truck.  (Before you ask, no I don’t play much anymore but I do like to take time to just play some.)
The clock fit right into the hallway at the new house. It has a light in it so it will look good there.
There is a perfect corner for the piano. The new house is smaller and one story so the furniture didn’t all fit where I thought it would. That’s okay.  There’s time to figure out where it can all go.  We aren’t living there yet. We’ll be going back and forth and taking time to figure it out.
Matt was needing a quiet spot after the chaos.  And he found one. 😂

We came back home.  The dogs and I went outside.  The pollen covered porch was still there. (I hosed it all down 2 days ago.).

Gwennie was tired like the rest.  We all were.  But a change has begun and now we are “on the move!”
