MIMI-- TINY PEKE

 We just got this little one from a shelter on the western part of Virginia.     She is tiny!   Only 5.8 pounds, and the biggest she'll be is seven pounds.   

 "What are you doing?  Trying to stretch me out?" :-)   Oh, I just want to hold this one!

She's been named Mimi and she is very sweet, but also scared.  We think she is about 5 years old and we have no idea what happened to her before we got her.   She does have vision limitations, and I'll know more about that soon.    We need a foster or adoptive home for her.   Just let us know if you are interested.

FAREWELL THEODORA

 Writing farewell posts on dogs I've fostered or connected to in some way is harder for me.    I'm having to do that today.   This is Theodora-- a beautiful girl who came out of a shelter in Maryland in 2005.    Look at her coat, so thick and gorgeous.

This was Theodora when I got her.     She was short haired and needed love and good care.    She was adopted almost as soon as we got her and lived with her family almost 8 years to the day.

 She had a brother, JR and they became good friends, stealing each others toys.   

Theodora was almost 16 years old when she died on Monday.    Her family is devastated.   She was a girl who loved sparkly things and Christmas presents were wonderful to her-- all the ribbons and bows.

 She had an experience with snow several years ago and made tracks around the back yard.    I know she's frolicking and playing over the Rainbow Bridge now--   Her mom once told me, "Thanks for all you do and for taking in the pekes in trouble. You and your group provide blessings to all of us adoptees. Thank you, all!"    I want to thank HER though for the wonderful life she gave Theodora.  Rest in peace, sweet girl.

 

PVPC MEETING

The October meeting for PVPC is this coming Saturday,  October 20, 2012 at noon.    PLEASE RSVP to Dian Thomas at Dianspeed@aol.com.     This is a general meeting.  If you did not get a reminder, just let them know you are coming.    It will be to present the Nominating Committee's  slate and allow nominations from the floor.

LOOK WHO'S ADOPTED!

 Festus was a senior boy we took in.    Jeanne just couldn't leave him at the shelter.   Could you?   (Don't you just want to kiss that face!)

He was in a foster home with Briscoe and their adoptive mom said, "why not two?"  I LOVE IT!!!   So, they were adopted together.     Their foster parents have fostered many dogs, but these two are missed a lot.  They are so sweet!

 We had a meet and greet at my house for Tinsley.    His foster mom, Susan, loves him a lot-- he was the one who was chained in a yard for 2 years in cold and hot weather.     Then, we took him into rescue and he had done amazingly well.    Look at that face.

 Beach Bit helped with all the goings on here -- he threw the ball for Tinsley.

 But, when the prospective adopter saw Andy, it was instant love.  Just something about him-- and guess who went home with them!

 Cowboy/Yoda was another older boy we took in. He came from the gassing shelter and we couldn't let him stay there.

 He went to a foster home and after a few months, they realized they couldn't imagine life without him there.    I can understand that!  He was with me awhile and if I could have had another, I would have kept him.  

I think he is one happy boy!     HOORAY FOR THE ADOPTIONS THIS WEEK!!

AUTUMN IN HER NEW HOME

 Autumn has gone to her new home and she hasn't slowed down much.

 She has Foxy, an 8 month old puppy to play wtih.   Look at them go!

 They became such good friends right away.  

 Ming Fu (WuWu) howls her approval for the new addition to the family.

 Bonnie and Ming Wu are just watching the antics.

 Foxy takes a break, but I'm sure it wasn't for long!

 Ming Fu is eleven years old, but loves to watch.  

 Lassie is beautiful and loves to watch also.

 Where are those two?

 I think they went that way!

And they did-- they're off again!

KAI KAI DISAPPEARS

 This is Kai Kai-- you've seen him before.   He's a beautiful red Peke.   And he's so devoted.      

He loves to get on the couch-- on the top.   On the plushy cushions.   He can really flatten them!

 He can get between the two top cushions and always seems to wonder what happens.

 That just does not look comfortable.

 You're sinking!  You're also falling asleep.

 I think you're disappearing behind the cushions now.   It doesn't seem to be bothering you a bit.

 But, I still see your head.

 And there he goes.   He's back there, you just can't see much of him.

That was fun!!!    Come on, Starlight, let's do it again!
