DIGGER-- ADOPTION PENDING!

This is sweet Digger.   He looks so small, but he is about 16-17 pounds!
Digger came into rescue in April with two Pekes we think are his parents.   He immediately charmed us when he sat up and smiled.
My daughter's two Pekes, Wicket and Lottie, passed away several years ago and she really missed having a Peke.   I raised my girls with Pekingese so Pekes are just part of our make-up.    Here he is with Bitty Bit, my granddaughter.
Digger went to my daughter's to be fostered.
That means, when Camp Runamuck is in session, Digger is here.  His side-kick, Gigi, is watching him as he naps in a gift bag that he crawled into.  These two are SUCH good friends.  OH, and do they play!
Digger is a little escape artist, so special additions had to be made to the fence.  Mesh was added to the wooden fence.  He is a little inventor of ways to get out-- he just wants to go visit the horses, but he can't get out now!
He likes to help clean up-- what a good boy.   Yes, I am sure there was something on that high chair when Digger came to my house.  Tidbits left over by Sugar Bit.
He likes to get in things-- he likes his open crate in the laundry room-- where he stays if my daughter is doing errands.   (At night, he gets to decide who he wants to sleep with.)   He also likes tiny boxes.  I don't think it fits, Digger!
He had a reaction after his neuter and had to have additional treatment-- which also meant the cone went on again.  Poor baby.
Before the mesh went up, he tried to look for escape routes in the fence.  The e-collar got in his way!
Digger even got to go to the drive-in.   My daughter lives in an area where it's still very family oriented, and people come the the drive-in and bring their dogs and watch commercials from the 50s before the movie begins.    Digger was a hit!
He likes to climb-- did I mention that?
My daughter's family feels like  Digger has filled a place in their hearts that was left open when Wicket and Lottie died.    A Digger-sized place-- so Digger isn't going anywhere.   As soon as he's all healed, he will be adopted.  Of course, that means you will continue to hear about him since he'll be part of the family!   I love that!

SHERRY'S HAPPY FAMILY

Before the picnic, I went to Sherry's to pick up Daisy to take her to the picnic.   She was adopted there. I got to see Norton and the gang there.
I was able to visit with the rest of Sherry's gang.  Joyful has so many cute outfits.
Rudy is such a sweetheart.  He came through all his surgery and is doing well.
He is so friendly and even though he's not a Peke, he has settled into a houseful of them.
Festus is Sherry's Peke-- he is the cutest thing!   His stand out ears just make me smile.
He is a love and friendly to everyone.
He keeps a watch over Joyful.   He's such a good big brother.
 Yes you are!
Norton roams around.   He is such a nice boy.  He has lost his sight and some of his hearing.
But, it doesn't get in his way.   If you want a sweet cuddle bug, and love the seniors, he is a sweetheart.
Not a Peke, but Daisy is a loved member of the family.   They are a happy pack!
Joyful is so happy she is part of it!

PATI'S PICS AT THE PICNIC!

We had so many great pictures at the picnic, and I may be getting some more, but for now, here are the last of my Picnic Peke Pics.
Brody and Abner came from New York-- it was so great to see them.  We had several New York Pekes come!
Ginger Snap is a little beauty.  She is Joshua/Joshie's little sister.  Isn't she cute!
Sir Jenkins was there.    He came from my area also.   He's beautiful!  (Of course, I love them all!)
Lily was beautiful posing.   She is Abner's sister.
Marco Polo came with his mom Celeste.    I was so glad to see them both!
Nicky and his mom who organized everything.   I love this boy!
There were cups and treats for every pup there.
Cody and Rammi got to visit later in the day-- they belong to Roger and Lucinda.  They were ready to go home!
Thurston, Cici, Harley and Theodora at the picnic's photo shoot.
Harley and Cici were the parents of 5 Peke puppies.   We took the parents into rescue in 2013-- can it be three years already!  It was so great to see most of them at the picnic.   Hope to see them next year!!

MOM'S DAY WITH THE PEKES

I love the pictures of the Pekes I take or receive from people.  It shows that Mom's Day for Peke parents is everyday!   Ricky was my foster boy in 2004-- love him and he lives close by so I'll get to visit with him this week!  His mom, Carolyn, is coming over for coffee.
I love this picture of my Kai Kai taken at the picnic.    He's fine as long as I am close.   He is a timid boy, even more so as he fights to regain some sight.   Thank you to all who are praying for this sweet boy.
Bink's mom, Anna, sent me this picture in her Mother's Day greeting.
Gus, in New York, is loved by many of us.  He adapted quickly to being a New York Peke.
Diva Pearl put on her special hat to celebrate Mother's Day.   She is so tiny and beautiful.
Yoda, who now lives in North Carolina, sent me kisses in an email.    (His mom adores Floyd, too, so he sends her kisses back.)
Piggy and Sebastian had a wonderful Mother's Day.    I love the flowers.
Pandy is my daughter's Peke mix.   She is OLD-- probably at least 16 now, but like the energizer bunny, she keeps going.  She was my foster in 2004.   Can it be that long ago!   She and Ricky were here at the same time.  She lives with Beach Bit and Sugar Bit, and she's not very patient, so she has her own space if they are up.
I love this picture of Nicky-- I used another one in the picnic blog, but this one cracks me up-- sunglasses and the pink car seat.
Maggie was my foster girl in 2008-- hard to believe it's been 8 years!   She is 13 now, and looks SO wonderful!  Her brother, Max, is one of my dogs now. :-)     Maggie was so sweet and Max can be grumpy haha.
Sampson belongs to Lucinda and Roger--he's a tiny thing with a big spirit.
Here is Piggy again with Lara, his "sister."  Lara adores her Pekes!
Abner was my foster 3 years ago.   He has a job of being a therapy dog in an airport, a nursing home, hospitals and even a university-- there is nothing like a Peke to cheer up students facing finals!
Joyful wished her foster mom, Sherry, a happy Mom's Day.    I'll be doing a blog on her family this week.   I hope Mother's Day was wonderful for all of you!

MIMI -- HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Short blog Sunday again!   This was Mimi in 2006.   She came to me as a mama dog (of Mika).  Mika (now Laura's bossy Peke haha), was a pistol, even as a puppy.   They went to different homes, and Mimi breathed a sigh of relief!
Mimi is about 12 now, and still in charge of her home, where she is the little dog among giant dogs.   She doesn't care-- as long as they know she is in charge!!     Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

DAISY IS ADOPTED!

Daisy came into rescue last summer, in July.
She arrived with her sister, Roxy, who was adopted.  They weren't very bonded, so they were fine to go to different homes.  Her foster mom, Sherry was part of Daisy's journey, bringing her to health and then letting her go to a new home-- fostering is tough, but it's so worth it!!    (I know Daisy will always be in her heart.)
She was fostered with Joyful-- and here is Joyful in her new sweatshirt.  (I just thought I'd throw in a picture of her!)
Daisy was a sweet girl and she was ready for a home.
We had a wonderful application for her, so I brought her to my home to begin a very early drive to the picnic last Saturday.   She met Max and Chumley.   They were very interested in her!
She roamed my yard and wagged her tail.
She walked around and met the rest of my gang.
Floyd wanted to meet her-- he is a sweet boy and loves new people and dogs who come.
We drove to the picnic-- a long drive, but Daisy was so good!
Her new mom came to meet her and adopt her and take her home.   It was love at first sight!
I have talked to Daisy's new mom several times this week-- and Daisy is doing so well!!   She loves her new brother, Ming, and her "cousin" Sybil, who she visits every day.   Sybil, Ming and Daisy are together often, and if one mom goes on an errand, the dogs visit the other home.  So, Daisy is with someone all the time.   She had an afternoon curled up on a lap, and loved it.  Daisy is loved by many!  We're so glad you have a forever home!
