HAPPY CHEWY

Chewy came into rescue from a Maryland shelter.  He was turned in by his owner after ten years.  I'm sure he was very confused.
He was unsure what was going on-- life was in a turmoil.   He went to Lisa for fostering and she helped him to know he was safe.  He really wanted to be an only dog.
Well, that's just what he is now!    He has a wonderful owner, and he even gets to sleep with her.   Look how beautiful he is now-- he is sure of himself and knows he is safe and loved.
They go on walks, meet other people and his mom said, "Chewy is doing wonderfully and is very happy and cuddly. He likes to go for walks and play fetch and get belly rubs.  He almost never growls anymore and is totally unrecognizable from how he was before. He even lets strangers on the street pet him!"
His new mom absolutely loves him and says he is very spoiled.   She is so grateful for helping them get together.  We are grateful for her!   Happy Chewy has found his forever home!

This is the kind thing that makes my day. The last 3 1/2 months have been bad for me and a true test of my determination to remain positive through 3 serious developments consisting of 2 bouts with the flu and lastly a very bad period of determining what had gone haywire with my kidneys.

The bad days are behind me now and I can start being a positive person instead of the frightened old lady that I had become in 2018.

This is a long winded way to say that positive stories of love expressed by so many people in the rescue world helped me pull through a period of utter dejection facing me with my health problems. The doctor's all clear signal in April certainly brightened my outlook as well but I have good reason to be thankful for this blog and people's love of rescued Pekingese as well as my doctor's good news for me.

Chewy's story and the beautiful Sisters with their story will continue to be my read first morning routine.
