DOMINO

Domino has been with her new parents for about a month now. He likes to be first in line. He can keep an eye on his parents better than way.

Domino's vet comes right to the house. Look at her van. Domino and his friends must be very special. The vet's professional diagnosis of Domino is "too cute." I love that!

When it's meal time, Domino is first in line there, too. Can you see his Doberman sister on the porch? Yes, they have Pekes and Dobies. The Pekes think they are Dobies and the Dobies think they are Pekes. Domino saw Tess, the Peke, walk under Tori (one of the Dobies) so now he walks under her, too. Tori just wags her tail.

Domino still has anxiety issues, but his moms are working to help him overcome those. He can be Houdini getting out of things. He has to be crated because of his anxiety if his parents are not home-- but he can get out of the most well secured crates. They even hid to see how he did it. I just hope Domino realizes he is safe and doesn't have to panic when he's not with his moms. He has the other dogs to keep him safe! We'll keep you posted, but we know he's there to stay. I love this home!

HOMER

Meet Homer. He just came in from Maryland. He was left at a friend's house and she couldn't keep him. She also said he was in pain of some kind and on medication.

He went to Paige's and she realized he was in a LOT of pain. Off to the vet they went.

The shots and medication seemed to help and he enjoyed being loved on. He is a very sweet dog.

Friday morning, he was screaming in pain, so Paige rushed him back to the vet. We'll keep you updated on what is going on with him. We want him to be pain-free and have a wonderful Christmas.

He is only 3 years old and under 12 pounds, so he's not a big boy. But, he has a big heart to love someone out there who will give him a forever home. Just check out facebook and blog to get updates on his condition.

We started a chip-in for his care. He had to see the specialist and that costs money! We just want him to be okay. If you can help a little bit, we appreciate it. (I know these are hard times for everyone-- ) Click here: ChipIn: Homer's Medical

RICHARD'S KIDS AND DOG COOKIES

Richard's incredible students are doing it again! They are raising money to help our foster Pekingese. Richard, please thank them for us-- they are amazing!

The first batch of dog cookies sold out and the students decided to make more and sell them at the school's Art show. They got busy in the cooking room.

Another teacher, Nancy, brought along Kricket, her recent rescue from Rescue Me Yorkie. Kricket was doing a great job supervising. Did she eat any cookies? I'm sure she was tempted!

Richard loves dogs and enjoyed holding Kricket while she checked out the packages of cookies.

He just couldn't put her down. I can see why!

The students came to help sell the cookies even though it was in the evening. They were very proud of their work and we are, too. Those look good enough for us to eat.

They know how to set up a beautiful and appealing table to bring in the cookie buyers.

The customers couldn't resist those beautiful wrappings of cookies.

Kricket, however, had to take a break and go to sleep on the table. I see she is right next to the cookies. Is she making sure there's at least one left for her?

Richard's students sent us a big donation from all the cookies they sold. They have made other donations to us and I want to personally say THANK YOU to each of them for their loving hearts. They have a wonderful teacher, too!!

I am posting these for you to look at to make decisions about your dogs' food.

Princess

Princess came into rescue in 2007. She is a super sweet girl and beautiful, too.

She has "sad eyes" but she's not a bit sad! Some just have that look-- and it can get me every time. :-)

Her mom calls her Princess Tu-- or Tuti. She is ten years old now-- but she doesn't look it.

She's ready for Christmas this year. She has on her Christmas ruffle, because she doesn't want to have a dress on. I like her ruffle! Merry Christmas Princess Tuti and your family!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEARL

This is Pearl-- she was born on Pearl Harbor Day, in 2003. I fostered her as a puppy with her "brother" Siesta. They were adopted together and now live in Maryland with their family. This is the picture I took of her when I had her in 2004. Happy Birthday, Pearl!!!

ELVIS UPDATE

Do you remember Elvis? He was the little one we got from a Maryland shelter-- he was going to be put down because he was in such terrible shape. But, a shelter rep fought for his life and fought to get him to us.

In his foster home, he had time to heal, but his healing has continued in his new home. They have continued his care for his skin and eyes, and he is in such great shape now. His new parents are so loving and are doing all they can to insure Elvis has a long, healthy life. She wrote to say they love him so much. She also said, "People say he is lucky to be adopted by us but I say we are lucky to have him. He is so sweet and laid back and he takes all his medication so easily. He is no trouble at all. My husband and I are so grateful that your organization saved Elvis and gave him the treatment he needed until he was able to be adopted by us. I can't tell you how much we love him! "

They dressed him up for Halloween along with his three Shih Tzu siblings.

How Elvis is ready for Christmas. He's waiting for Santa, and I know he'll be coming to Elvis' house. I'll ask Santa to give him a special hug for me.
