BRUCE AND EYE SURGERY

It’s been a ‘more than busy’ week.  But, I look at sweet faces and it’s ok.
Bruce had a dental on Wednesday and had a small growth on his side removed.   You see that belly band?   It’s really a giant bandaid!   He’s trying to scratch his stitches, so it has to be covered.
He had an appointment w the ophthalmologist Friday. He had a small growth on his eye lid that was removed.   It was rubbing his eye and would have continued growing.
He’s trying to rub it so…
He got a bigger e collar.
It comes off so he can eat and drink.  The Velcro strips are so easy.   He will be here awhile longer but that’s fine.  We adore him.  ❤️

UH OH— TUK TUK COMES TO VISIT

The little spitfire Tuk Tuk is my granddog.   He’s about 1 1/2 years old now.  Most of you know he came to us as a tiny puppy last year.
Granger is his brother.  There’s quite a size difference.
Tuk Tuk is busy!   He will be here for almost two weeks.  Tuk Tuk never walks anywhere.   Every time you come home, he bounces like he hasn’t seen you in years.   He never walks anywhere.   He will sit, he will dance.  Will I have energy left? 🤣.
We already have dogs on the bed, but Tuk Tuk didn’t care.
Granger, too!   I can see it’s a crowd.
Comfy?
He and Paddington are doing fine.   And Tuk Tuk and Piper are playing.
Rest up Tuk Tuk.  The adventure is just beginning!

BRIDGET- IS BRUCE MY BROTHER?

Bridget sent me an email.  She saw Bruce’s picture and thought she saw a family resemblance.   Bridget us a PVPC alumni and she is 18 years old. 💖
I think Bridget and Bruce could be related.  After all, are both adorable.
Bruce had a bath and was a good boy.   He had a nice trim at my vet groomer, too.
Yesterday, he had a dental.  There was a cancellation and he was able to get in.  Yay!   He only lost three teeth.  The vet and I were surprised. We thought it would be more.
We see the ophthalmologist today.  He has a small growth that is rubbing his eye.   He’s getting first class treatment.  It’s how we treat all our dogs. ❤️
He will be ready for his new home soon.   He has an adoption pending.   New life journey about to begin!!

MIMI AND BAXTER—WELCOME TO RESCUE

We were contacted by a Maryland shelter.  Two Pekes had come in.  Could we help?
Baxter was one of them.  Their owner has cancer and couldn't care for them.
Mimi is smaller at 14 pounds (Baxter is 19).   They are both 10 years old.
They are sweet and easy going.
They both had baths and shook off the extra water.
I bet that felt better.
They both have nice temperaments.
They are very bonded, following each other around.
They love attention and once they are moved to Staunton, their medical care will continue.    They won't be around long!

FAREWELL JANEY

Janey came into rescue in 2010.
She was 2 1/2 years old and her owner could no longer care for her.
She was at my house, and a sweet girl.
It didn't take long to find her a home.
She was adopted and joined her new family-- along with their two dogs.   Look how beautiful she is.
She and her new friend would wrestle and play and just have fun.
Janey had a long life-- almost 15 years old.   She was held with love as she left.  Run free now, sweet girl.  💜

ANDY AND JAX

Andy came into rescue four years ago w his mom Minnie.

Minnie lived w me and passed earlier this year at almost 17 years old.   Andy turned 15 in June.
Andy lives w Jax.  Jax was a street dog and never was  quite ready for a family so his foster dad adopted him.
Andy was there first and he told his dad to keep Jax.  He knew staying there was the best thing for him.
He fit right in and learned to relax some.  His dad was so patient w him.
They are friends, but both are daddy’s boys first.  ❤️❤️   Daddy’s boys rock!

WELCOME TO RESCUE BRUCE

Bruce came into rescue Saturday.   After years of doing rescue, I realize that some people go through hard situations and can't find a solution to keep their dog.   This is one of those.
Bruce was very loved and his owner was so happy to find out that love would continue.

He's hanging with Piper by the front door.
He's very laid back and smiles a lot.   His tail wags, too.   He's 16 pounds and he just turned 11.  He sure doesn't look 11.
I have a tentative home for him, so we aren't taking applications..   Welcome to rescue, Bruce!!
                                                                      💙🐾
