RICH'S NEW PEKES

Rich adopted two sweet Pekes. Here's what he said: "A year ago I lost my best friend - little Rusty The Pekingese. After a year of no dog beds, no squeaky toys, no dog bowls and no 5am walks in the rain I just found out I have been approved to adopt 2 little Pekingese rescued from a puppy mill in Tennessee. Meet Onslow and Daisy - my new "kids". " Onslow and Daisy have come to live with Rich. It's been a long year without a Peke.

Onslow and Daisy came from a puppy mill and lived with their foster mom a long time. Sometimes, it takes awhile to find the right home.

Daisy knows Rich's house was worth waiting for.

It was like striking gold.

Daisy had a bath before she traveled to Rich's home-- she looks thrilled. Just like mine do after a bath.

"Do I have to go through this torment?"

Onslow usually has his tongue out, very Peke-like I think.

Daisy's fits in her mouth though.

"Are you talking about me?"

When Onslow had a bath, he looked like he was falling asleep.

Now they are at Rich's home. They get long walks and lots of play time.

They are very happy pups! (I can see those microchip tags on-- I'm so glad they are microchipped.)

They can rest easy now-- they will be taken care of the rest of their lives.

I know they will bring Rich a lot of company.

FU YANG AND THE CHIROPRACTOR

Fu-Yang is an older boy and he visits a chiropractor near Leesburg, VA.

He loves walking in his yard. Sometimes his back hurts and he sees a chiropractor who has helped to keep him in good shape.

Gloria takes her dogs there, too. All of them. That's one beautiful group of dogs when they all show up.

They patiently wait for their turn. Pekingese with their long back can pull them out of alignment. So, if you have the option of using a chiropractor, it can help.

Noble wants to be picked up while he waits for his turn. Fu-Yang's mom loves Gloria's Pekes.

Are there games going on while they wait?

The chiropractor comes and sits down with the group.

She begins to exam one of them, while the rest watch and wait.

I know they are all very comfortable there and love the chiropractor.

GIZMO

I just got this picture of Gizmo, napping in his temporary foster home. His transport was delayed due to the snow storm hitting the N.Va. area. He'll go tomorrow-- but for now, he is VERY happy with Camden and Brandy. Thanks for sharing your home guys.

Gizmo is an older boy we were asked to help. His family was losing their home and asked if we could take him. You all know I love the seniors and want them to end their lives well. We didn't have a foster space for him, but I knew someone who just might be able to help-- and she said YES. Thank you, Peggy!

Gizmo doesn't hear well and his eyes are so scarred that he can't see now. But, he loves to be held and petted. And he even leaned his head back and howled. :-)

He may be old, but he still has life in him and he deserved to be loved. He'll be loved a lot at Peggy's.

He had a special bath and his hair became soft and shiny. He received antibiotics for his skin and soon he'll have smooth healthy skin, too. He received special eye drops to help his eyes, even though we can't bring his sight back.

GRACIE'S MOM HAS A BIRTHDAY

I hear Jane is having a birthday. Gracie, you forgot to tell me so I am putting up this Happy Birthday blog late. I hope you and your mom have a wonderful birthday!!!

LOLLI-POP AND BEAU-BEAU

Look at this little face. Could you resist this if you were called to a shelter and she needed help?

And her "brother" was there, too. They were found wandering down a street together and we were asked to help.

They were neutered/spayed at the shelter and then I took them to my vet. They were still drugged a bit from anesthesia, so they can had a ride. I love the dog strollers that Gloria gave me. They are GREAT!

Once they came to my house, where they were to be temporarily, I realized they had kennel cough. OH, NO. Well, they had to stay with me for awhile. It makes a FULL house here, but these two are so sweet!

Lolli-pop is a dollbaby and she loves to give kisses and give love.

Beau-Beau is a big boy at almost 19 pounds-- but it's all sugar. Lolli-pop is under 12 pounds, but I'm trying to put some weight on her.

They love to play together, rolling around and kissing each other. It's sad because they have to be separated soon to go to different foster homes. We have four pairs in rescue now, and we can't keep them together. We'd love for them to be adopted together, but the reality is that they won't. If I could keep them, I would. But, I've ended up with several Pekes who weren't adopted, and I just don't have room for more permanent members of our home. I sure wish I did.

These two are precious. They are doing better and the kennel cough is slowly leaving and so far, none of the other dogs have come down with it. I'm so glad.

Scooter, my Peke, loves all the newcomers. He wants to play, too.

For now, Lolli-pop and Beau-Beau are with me and I'm enjoying their company.

CAPTAIN ADOPTED!

Captain has a new home I've "met" his mom through email and I know she's a great Peke mom. I hope Captain blends right in with her pack. I know he's a great dog and very loving.

I think he's ready-- he's looking for which they are driving to his new home. We love you, Captain!

PEACHES IN HER NEW HOME

Peaches was adopted and is living in her new home. She looks very comfortable there.

Yes, she is relaxed!

We have one of those purple bobo's at our house. It's a very popular toy here. She likes to run and play fetch with it. Sometimes, like most dogs, she runs so fast, she can't slow down and will run into something in her mission to get the toy. She also like to "kill" her toy-- shaking it around.

She loves to rest on the couch with her new dad. They were so excited when Peaches joined the family.

These pictures show Peaches sleeping a lot-- Pekes do this so well. I think that's when we realize we can take their pictures!

I'm so glad she loves her new home. She is one sweet girl.
