MATTIE AND BENJAMIN/BENNY--DOING GREAT!

 For those on facebook, you have seen updates on Mattie and Benjamin/Benny.

 Some of my blogger friends are not on facebook, so I like to update them, too.  

 Mattie and Benny are doing great!!   I always worry about them as they adjust, but I knew they would since they are so loving.

 And I loved their adopter, Rita!!   She is spoiling them-- here they are ready for football!!

 They got new name tags-- something I love them to have.   I send them with my tags, but having their new contact information is so important!!  

 Benny was thrilled to have his-- can you tell?  LOL

 They love all the walks they have now.  They curl up together, and are becoming more bonded since they are the only two there.

 And if mom goes out to take the trash-- how dare she!?-- they wait right next to the door.

 It does my heart good to see how loving they are there, how many kisses they give, how much they welcome others who visit and how secure they are in their new home.

Their mom is the best!!

PEACHES ADOPTED!

 I've used a few of these pictures before, but had to share the good news anyway!  

 Peaches came into rescue as a "13 year old" and after some research, we found she was just 7.  That's a big difference.  

 She was spayed, which was a good thing since pyometra had begun.  That is so dangerous and she would have died without a spay.  Now she is back to her spunky self and doing great.  She has been working to determine her spot in the pecking order at her foster home-- which is a good thing since.....

She isn't leaving!!   I'm so excited for her.  Her foster mom debated keeping her and after a few weeks, she said Peaches is her little shadow.   And Peaches has a new name--Phoebe!   Welcome home!!

SWEET TRIO

 Trio came to me in October of 2009, as a young one, about 2 years old.  She came from a fellow rescuer in North Carolina, who would only give her to me if I had a perfect home for her. :-)  I did.

 Trio (formerly Georgia O'Peke) is a perfect girl.  She had a beloved doggy sister, but she is gone now and Trio devotes herself now to her young human sister.  

 Trio is going on ten now-- but is still doing great.

 She has Peke "cousins" at her relatives' houses and there is always someone to be with.  

Trio came  into rescue and was adopted so fast-- it was meant to be.  She is a very loved girl!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BEACH BIT!

BEACH BIT IS SEVEN YEARS OLD TODAY!  

(not a many Pekes today, but had to do a birthday blog)

 Beach Bit is seven years old today.   He has been my rescue buddy with the Pekingese since he was about 8 weeks old.  He began coming here every day when his mom and dad were at work, so he was raised with Pekes.    He loves to help me.  He's with Bella here.

He was a tiny one, being very early, but he quickly caught up.

 He is best friends with his cousin, Drill Bit.  They have so much fun together!

 He graduated from kindergarten in June and tomorrow he will begin first grade!

 Yes, he talks a lot-- a LOT-- but he has a very sweet personality and he wants to help whenever he can.

 He is a great big brother to Sugar Bit.

 He loves dinosaurs and airplanes, anything about WWll and we have fun watching World War ll movies together.

 He is full of joy and has a very inquisitive mind.

 Happy Birthday, Beach Bit!!   We all love you!   My blog friends have watched you grow up, so I had to include them, too!

NANCY ROSS AND HER LOVE FOR PEKES

 Nancy Ross has been a friend of our rescue for many years.   She sent me a picture of her Arthur.  He is an old boy, arthritic, and senile she said.  Arthur is almost 17-- so he just lives his life by sleeping and eating and resting...

 Nancy has helped us by sending us the beautiful cards she makes.   Here are some of them.

 We will be selling some of these soon to raise money to help our foster dogs.

 I bet some of these remind you of Pekes you have or have had.

 Three very patriotic Pekes!!

 Nancy told me she has had Pekes for over 50 years (so have I!).  Her Pekes, Pearl and Angelina passed away and she only has Arthur left.  

So, they went to the shelter, hoping to adopt the senior Peke who was there.   The Peke had been adopted, and as they had walked through the kennel area, something very strange happened.   She said, "We passed this pen with a pitiful tiny,little dog (8 pounds!) who was staring and us and looked like he was going to cry.  Lots of big dogs there.  He just stared and stared.  We adopted him and when got home, we thought,  "What have I done?"

She said they reach down to pet him, and there's a NOSE!  But, he is sweet and loves having a home and he likes their old boy, Arthur.   I think this was a win for all of them!!  Thank you, Nancy, for supporting us for so many years!!

HAPPY THIRD-AVERSARY GUS!

 Gus was adopted three years ago on August 31, 2014!

 He had come into rescue in September of 2013, and was in really bad shape.  He was so allergic to fleas and was miserable.  His skin needed so much help.   Jeanne spent months loving him, helping him to heal.

 He was adopted and now lives in New York City!!   He is a city boy for sure.  

 We think he was 6-7 when we got him, but since he had been through several homes, we don't know.   No matter how old he is, he became "younger" once he began to heal.  He was always sweet-- super sweet!-- but a youthful spirit came out as he began to feel better and not itch.

He mom loves him so much and he has so many friends there.   Happy Third-aversary, Gus!!!
