TUK TUK AND FAMILY — TIME FOR JACKETS

It’s December. So colder temperatures are here.
Tuk Tuk, Tolstoy, Granger and Gigi got matching jackets!
They are all set and adorable.
Granger thinks he’s the most handsome. 🥰
The jackets are reversible.  (I know some will ask, so I’ll tell you- the jackets are from Chewy.)
They had to show them off so they all went to the farmers market.
Tolstoy made sure Santa knew where he lived.
They walked around and met so many new dogs.  I think that’s a puppy there. 😁
Time for everyone to show their winter clothes.  Do your dogs have special outfits?

CHRISTMAS IN AUSTRALIA

It’s almost summer in Australia and Yum Yum modeled a jingle bell collar.  He’sb not happy w it. 🤣
His mom made her marzipan cake.  I don’t think I’ve ever had one.  I’ve heard it’s a very sweet flavor.
Melinda made this one last year.   She’s very talented!
Melinda put her Cockies on the tree.  The pink one is the Pink Cockatoo.
The yellow one is the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo.
Last year, they were both on top.  Different areas of the world have different customs and it’s so much fun to learn them.
Lots of dog ornaments fill out the tree.
Yum Yum is glad he can just sit inside w the air conditioner and watch his mom decorate.   Now, do they say Merry Christmas or Happy Christmas there?   Melinda  will have to tell us. 🎄🎄🐾

TUK TUK AND GRANGER

Christmas is coming to Tuk Tuk and Granger's house.   They are wearing their new matching jackets.  I'll be posting pictures of the entire gang.  For today, Granger is using Tuk Tuk for a pillow.   Perfectly content.    🎄🎄

FAREWELL GINGER SNAP

GINGER SNAP
Ginger Snap came into rescue in February of 2010.
This was her mom and dad's favorite picture of her. They took her in to foster her, but were quickly smitten, and they adopted her.
Ginger Snap had a two brothers before Lucy Lu came in 2020 and joined Ginger's family.   Ginger was 12 and she had to deal with a 6 month old puppy. They were fast friends. Lucy Lu adored her.
Ginger Snap taught Lucy Lu how to be a good mother. They often were in the same corner, grooming their own toy babies, side by side.
Ginger snap was a “Little Mother” all through her life.   She loved her babies. She would take a baby and lick it over and over, meticulously grooming it. Then,  she had one corner of the den where she would carry the baby and put it down for a nap . Then she would choose another baby and do the same.  At the end of the night, there could be a dozen in the corner.
She found a way to still have her babies, even with the dreaded  e-collar.
Joshua (one of my special foster dogs) was Ginger Snap's best friend.  Joshua died in 2017-- but I'm sure he was there to welcome her to the Rainbow Bridge.  Her other brother, Jimmy, died in 2020.

Joshua followed her in the snow.  Jimmy was walking behind them.   Ginger could scale the largest snow mountain and the boys would just look at her.
Ginger was so brave and adventurous, like a warrior princess.
  No wallflower there!
Ginger Snap loved her mom and dad so much-- and she was loved immensely, too.
This was the first picture that her dad took of her.
When Ginger was sick and then died, Lucy would not take a walk. She just wanted to be near her sister.  Dogs know when a cherished friend is sick and when they leave.
I am sure they have toys in heaven that Ginger Snap can play with.
Like this one.
For some reason, I had such a hard time writing about Ginger Snap.  Maybe it's because I know and care about her mom and dad.  They are such generous and loving people.  It's been such a blessing to know them-- and their dogs are part of that.
I know this welcome rug will bring loving memories of their girl.
Her dad said, "All  her pictures show Ginger Snap's beauty and her personality.  Such a beauty, body and soul."  They will miss her smile.   Run free with Jimmy and Joshua sweet girl.

CHU CHU — SWEET BOY

Chu Chu was one of the Maryland Five.  He is so cute!
❤️
He likes to nibble fingers— Tolstoy does the same thing.
Chu Chu loves tummy tubs.   Chu Chu likes to play w most dogs.  When he starts to play, he has a great time.  He can be choosy about who his friends are but he’s getting much better at adjusting.  The Five obviously played a lot w each other.  So a playmate would be wonderful for him.
He goes outside a lot.  He wears a belly band inside because he has occasional accidents.   He will eventually catch on.  None of the Five were housetrained. They were allowed to pee anywhere.  They have all made great progress.
Chu Chu is about 2 years old.  He’s a loving and sweet boy.  If you are interested in him, fill out an application at:
If you have questions you can email us at potomacpekes@gmail.com.
We adopt in Virginia, Maryland and some parts of North Carolina.

STELLA-A DAY LATER.

What a difference a day makes!
Stella had a busy day yesterday.  She went to my groomer.  And tried on some outfits.
I washed her beds and toys and she began to play.
What a sweet girl.  She does have to eat by herself.  We can do that.
Playing!
We went outside and she explored more of the yard.
She went to “new territory.”   She loved it!
More smells.
This morning, she decided she would get on my lap so I sat on the floor.
She looked around and what did she see?!

Oh, it looks like Santa is coming!   We better be good!! 🎅
