FAREWELL GINGER SNAP

GINGER SNAP
Ginger Snap came into rescue in February of 2010.
This was her mom and dad's favorite picture of her. They took her in to foster her, but were quickly smitten, and they adopted her.
Ginger Snap had a two brothers before Lucy Lu came in 2020 and joined Ginger's family.   Ginger was 12 and she had to deal with a 6 month old puppy. They were fast friends. Lucy Lu adored her.
Ginger Snap taught Lucy Lu how to be a good mother. They often were in the same corner, grooming their own toy babies, side by side.
Ginger snap was a “Little Mother” all through her life.   She loved her babies. She would take a baby and lick it over and over, meticulously grooming it. Then,  she had one corner of the den where she would carry the baby and put it down for a nap . Then she would choose another baby and do the same.  At the end of the night, there could be a dozen in the corner.
She found a way to still have her babies, even with the dreaded  e-collar.
Joshua (one of my special foster dogs) was Ginger Snap's best friend.  Joshua died in 2017-- but I'm sure he was there to welcome her to the Rainbow Bridge.  Her other brother, Jimmy, died in 2020.

Joshua followed her in the snow.  Jimmy was walking behind them.   Ginger could scale the largest snow mountain and the boys would just look at her.
Ginger was so brave and adventurous, like a warrior princess.
  No wallflower there!
Ginger Snap loved her mom and dad so much-- and she was loved immensely, too.
This was the first picture that her dad took of her.
When Ginger was sick and then died, Lucy would not take a walk. She just wanted to be near her sister.  Dogs know when a cherished friend is sick and when they leave.
I am sure they have toys in heaven that Ginger Snap can play with.
Like this one.
For some reason, I had such a hard time writing about Ginger Snap.  Maybe it's because I know and care about her mom and dad.  They are such generous and loving people.  It's been such a blessing to know them-- and their dogs are part of that.
I know this welcome rug will bring loving memories of their girl.
Her dad said, "All  her pictures show Ginger Snap's beauty and her personality.  Such a beauty, body and soul."  They will miss her smile.   Run free with Jimmy and Joshua sweet girl.
