She was a sweet little 11 pound Peke and I was so glad we could get her. Her owner had turned her in because having one eye scared her granddaughter. WHAT?
Jeanne fell in love with her and wanted to adopt her, so off she went to Jeanne's home. She had a painting done of her.
Lucy was Jeanne's also and after Jeanne passed away, Lucy, Didi, and Sassy went to live with Paige and Dani.
Lucy passed away last June. All three were older and they had more time to be loved with Paige and Dani.
Lucy always had a sad face, but she was a sweet girl. All three fit right into their new home.
Didi was a happy girl-- look at her smile.
She settled into her new home.
She loved her new home and yard and friends.
Didi and Sassy developed kidney/renal disease, but they were doing well.
Paige and Dani realized this week that Didi was not doing well at all. She had stopped eating --something that happens with renal failure. Sassy wasn't doing well either, so they took both in to be checked. Both were in severe failure, so they made the decision to let them go together. It was such a difficult time.
They had begun staying close together the last few weeks. They must have known they needed each other at the end of their lives. They were loved so much and the care they received was extraordinary. Part of that care is knowing when you have to release them so they don't suffer and that's what was done. Run free, little girls. You were so loved. 💜💛

Oh to have two go together ... oh that must have been just so hard!!
Yum Yum and I send huge hugs to Paige and Dani as that would have been so hard to do but the best thing to do for them as kidney failure is shocking.
Once again ... hugs to you both !
