Bella and Simon have made themselves very comfortable at our house. But, like the other fosters, when a good home is found, we will let them go-- sad at it might be. (They have had a lot of applications, but we are picky and they will only go to a wonderful home.)
There is a new friend next door! Lily is my nephew's dog and he's visiting my sister for a week (she lives next door to me).
Sugar Bit is thrilled and Bella keeps running out to see if Lily is there.
There she is! Lily is a very sweet, laid back dog, probably under a year old.
She's very gentle and Sugar Bit is good with animals (she's pretty used to them and how to interact since she' been around so many).
She is learning to say Lily-- it's a 2 year old's way of saying it.
Can you see Lily?
There she is! Simon is checking her out again. He loves to go to the fence to see if she's out in the yard.
I think she went inside-- let's go back to the porch.
Simon, you can watch for her from here.
And after a day of playing, running the yard, and chatting with their friend, Lily, next door, they are ready to sleep and rest. It was a busy day!
Must Love Pekes is a blog for those who love Pekingese -- their looks, their antics, their personalities. It is written by me, Linda, and I have been rescuing Pekingese for over 22 years. Lots of them have come through our home. We have loved them all.

FAREWELL MR. WADDLES
Mr. Waddles came into rescue in 2016, and was a senior.
He was almost blind, he had little hearing, and had kidney issues.
He loved waddling around Monica's yard. And she loved him so much.
He was not able to do much, but he enjoyed being in his bed (or one of the other dogs' beds) and he would snuggle up.
He sometimes picked the biggest bed to rest in.

Last night, Mr. Waddles had a stroke and lost all ability to stand. He was ready to go. His foster mom was with him as he left, to go and join so many who have left us before. Thank you, Monica, for loving him so much.
Run free now, sweet boy.
WAITING!
Sometimes, we need to do an errand, or go to work, or just be away for awhile. But, Pekes think if we are gone one minute, it's really hours! Yogi and Sugar think that.
Sugar, Lola, and Yodi are saying, "Come back! Come back!"
At my house, this is a familiar scene. My daughter lives across the street, so sometimes, I'm just out front, or in her yard. Floyd and Mattie (adopted now) thought it was an eternity!
They are in their new home now. I think they are pouting.
Where is she?
I think Floyd taught Benjamin/Benny and Mattie well. They learned how to make their mom feel very guilty about leaving.
Guinness does this with his mom, too. That woe-is-me look gets us every time.
Jay Jay, Penny and Cosmo (who crossed to the Rainbow Bridge last December), were watching under the gate. Talk about a guilt trip!
Yodi and Sugar perfected it, too. This seems to be one of their favorite places.
Jay Jay is WAITING.
And his sister, Penny found another place to gaze at with a forlorn look.

Monica's group (some are her mom's) think working in numbers can be to their advantage. We are all familiar with this-- and we usually give in! How can we help it!?

EXERCISE AND PEKES
I asked for pictures of your Pekes exercising. You responded!! Here's Schmoo doing yoga.
Snuffles, Schmoo and Pudgie are ready for racing, um, I mean sledding. They are going to try out for the Winter Olympics!
And Snuffles is clearing the yard with his short legs. He's running!!
Monty has finished his exercise routine and he's resting now.
Coltrane says, "Exercise?"
"I'd rather ride!" Mulligan likes to ride on top.
Norton is an old man, so exercising for him is walking around and finding a sunbeam.
Chip enjoys hiking, but only if he can be carried for part of it. His mom is ready when he needs a break.
Rocky and Daytona are exercising. They are waiting for cheese-- hurry up, Mom!
Later, Daytona (or Rocky) sits up for a snack.
Brandy and Camden exercise by staring at their mom. It must be a Peke thing, especially if there is food involved.
Benjamin is actively involved in energy conservation even though his sister, Mattie, gets the zoomies after a bath.
Did you calm down now? :-)
Pudgie loves to exercise. And his dad gets such great pictures of him!
Missy's mom, Beth, said she is exercising her options. I do that, too.
Peanut loves to hike with his mom.
He can be a serious athlete, too. He's doing the tire agility course.
Penny is working on her core muscles. Good girl!
Louie has finished his program. He's cooling down now.
His sister, Katie, is done, too.
Jay Jay says, "What's the fuss all about? Exercise is easy!"
Swimming is great-- as long as there is a life preserver.
Granger and his lab sister, Gigi, wrestle for exercise.
Thea gets a lot of exercise! Her mom has a big play park for the dogs she cares for and Thea and Thurston have so many friends.
At the end of the day, exercise or not, Sophie shows us how to relax. In a soft bed, with lots of toys, a full belly and love. That's the best part of all!

EXERCISING? NOT ON SUNDAY!
Starlight is ready to exercise. She gets on the trampoline and says, Ready, Set, Go!
Bella is of the same mind-- so is Simon. Can you tell?
But, Kai Kai says, "No Way!" Sunday is for rest! Happy Sunday! (See tomorrow's blog on exercise and Pekes!)
