OH CROSBY

Crosby is one of our alumni.
He is a mama’s boy.
Crosby is his own dog.  Just ask his mom.  He loves to lay on the couch and watch the fish swim around.
He has helped his mom so much in the past year.
He is his moms best friend. He would love to go everywhere w her.
He loves a good nap.  Like most Pekingese, he misses the bed a lot.
Pillows are fine, too.
Crosby adores toys.  He wants more and more and more.
He says he doesn’t have enough!
So, they go shopping.
Crosby wishes he could go to work w her. But, he’s so bossy there.  He wants to control everyone and he is very vocal about giving his opinion.  ðŸ¤¦‍♀️   Sooo, he has to stay home.

Crosby is a very loved boy. ❤️❤️

LAYLA--A YEAR LATER

Layla came back into rescue over a year ago after her owner passed away.
She was a senior when we got her, so she's now a "gold senior"-- my term for those that have really surpassed our life expectations.
She went to live with Peggy and Terry and they have loved her so much.
She was 18 years old on September 1!
She can't get around well, and sight and hearing are not really there.
But, we don't give up on them.   She is happy.
Last year,  I posted these.  They were from when she came into rescue initially..
She wasn't young then, but look at that smile.
She had medical issues, but is so sweet.   My friends love her so much.
Layla has problems being carried.  She would cough when she was picked up, so Peggy came up with a solution.  She bought a light weigh dog carrier with screen sides,  front and top that zip.  On hot days, she puts an ice pack in the pocket.  Layla loves it and she pops her head out the top!   She's ready for her ride to the yard!    Layla is so blessed to be there.   ðŸ’œ⭐  Do you have senior pets?  Gold seniors?  Share their pictures (with their names, too).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

❤️🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂❤️

It was a busy weekend. My family came from Williamsburg and we all celebrated.  I turned 71- a gift to live a long time.
Granger came and claimed Sugar Bit’s little house.  He jumped up there all by himself.

It meant we had nine dogs here and so I fed them all before we ate.   What an adventure.  Everyone had a special spot to eat.  It took less than 10 minutes to feed and medicate.  Certain dogs get meds so they have special bowls.  Don’t want to get them mixed up!

Even Paddington was good.  He’s such a mess sometimes but we love him.   Thank you to everyone who donated to my birthday fundraiser!!  Let’s all have a great day!

PADDINGTON SAYS HAPPY SUNDAY

Paddington.  How did you get on that stool?   You barely fit!
He wanted to be close to me so, of course, I picked him up.  He says HAPPY SUNDAY!

THE WEEKEND

Why no blog?   Because we’re tired!
Zoey says virtual school is exhausting and she is going to protest.

I’m w her.  No school this weekend!   (She doesn’t know there’s no school anyway.) 🤣

CHEWY— 2 YEAR ADOPTAVERSARY

Over two years ago, we were asked to take in an older blind Peke.
We had an incredible application and I just loved this family.
Chewy was so sweet and fit right into their home.
He goes camping and loves it. They have a cabin and it looks like a great place to relax

He’s had so much attention and love and has become so much more secure.  His first home wasn’t good and this new one is incredible.
He can’t see but he can smell and hear.  His mom said she would probably always adopt blind ones.
Chewy is in family photos and adored by his human sister.
His life is so different.  I’d say he’s loved!
He finds vents to warm up or cool down.

He’s a beautiful boy. Happy two year adoptaversary Chewy!! ❤️

PUMPKIN SPICE COFFEE?

My friend, Emily, LOVES pumpkin spice coffee.  Do her dogs like it?  Is it good for them?
Granger says pumpkin flavored things are very popular in the autumn.
There are pumpkin flavored coffees, muffins, bread...  Pumpkin itself isn't bad.  But, for pumpkin spice flavoring, other things are added.   Some are toxic to dogs.  Cinnamon can cause blood sugar changes, vomiting... it can also cause heart issues.
Nutmeg may be in the mixture-- it can cause heart rate changes, stomach pain, disorientation.   Cloves and allspice can cause liver damage.
I know Daisy wants to be safe, so Emily will have to make sure they don't get her coffee.  Of course, I don't think she wants to share it anyway!  LOL 😉
