In November of 2022, this sweet girl was in a NC shelter. They called her Peg. She had been a stray, and she only had a short time to be rescued -- we stepped up. We renamed her Sweet Tater.
We took her to our vet and then she went to her foster home.
She met Mei Mei, Ren and Jinjie. They were her foster sisters. We were told that she was blind-- but she wasn't. Her cloudy eye had no vision, but it was "healthy." Her foster mom, Beth, began calling her "Pip." It stuck. :-) "Pip" was very smart. Her foster mom and dad blocked the stairs. But it was no deterrent. Pip managed to move the gate and follow her foster dad upstairs. She was determined to be near her people. After her medical procedures were done, Pip was adopted in February, 2023. She had a new brother named Sparky. He's a sweet one! They got along so well. And look at Pip's smile. Such a happy girl.
Her mom wanted to show me her Phyllis Diller look. :-)
Pip wasn't doing well, and on her last vet visit, she was given pain meds to help her until the at home vet came to help them let Pip go. They asked if I would come over and I was so honored they asked. I had helped Pip get out of the shelter, and I was there to say good-bye. Pip left with her mom and dad by her side. She was so loved.
Run free, precious, beautiful girl. 💜
