FAREWELL STELLA FEY

Stella Fey came into rescue the end of November last year.
Her owner went into hospice and wanted her girl to have a good home.
She came to my home for fostering.    She had all her medical done.   She had no vision in her left eye, but she just had drops to keep it moist.
She didn't make a sound at first.  One day, when my husband came home, she followed him, raised her head and gave a big SILENT bark.  Then, she kept trying and this tiny tiny "woof" came out.   I've never had one that barked like that.    It was precious!
Stella could be a little pistol but her new mom and dad adored her!
Her dad was totally enamored with her.  💖
Stella had settled in at my home, but in her new home, she was the only dog and got all the attention.
She did have a cat brother and she terrorized him.   Poor guy!
About a month ago, Stella began have health issues.    She was walking in circles and had a head tilt.  The vet thought it was vestibular disease.  She began taking medicine and it looked like it was helping.  She was getting a referral to Duke University.  But, she took a turn, and they rushed her to the vet.   They were going to take her back a few hours later, but Stella wasn't going to fight anymore.  Her mom and dad were beside her as she took her last breath.
They only had her 6 months, so this is a shock for all of us.   She was probably over 10, but not old.   She was an amazing little girl-- she can now run free with no discomfort.   You are loved, Stella Fey. 💜
