FAREWELL BUTTERS

Butters came into rescue last April.   His story was a hard one.  His owner turned him into a shelter at 14 because he had medical problem she could not take care of.
He had extensive ear issues, and was in rough shape.
Sonia and Joe stepped up-- and I'm so grateful.
Butters was treated continually for ear issues, which had gone on for so long.
We did all we could do for him, and kept him as comfortable as he could be.   He loved lap time.
He and his foster sister Olivia (who died last week), curled up together for naps.
Maybe they found some comfort in each other.
Butters was on an allergy diet to help his ears.   (Sissy is on the same one and it did help her.)
We can't always fix everything that has gone on for years, but we can love and care for them and do all we can.
Butters had all that.   He was a senior boy and the last year of his life was a good one.
This week, Butters took a turn and it was time to say good-bye.  He left surrounded by his foster mom and dad, Sonia and Joe.   It was a hard good-bye, but the right time for Butters to fly free.   Run find Olivia, sweet boy.  She will show you all around.   💙🌈

Oh how sad to read about dear Butters.
Thankfully he did find a lovely home and now he must go and see Olivia.
Hugs to Sonia and Joe .... oh you must miss him and Olivia.
What a beautiful boy he was!
