FAREWELL PHOEBE

Phoebe came to us in 2017.
She had been through several families-- turned into a shelter, then adopted to another family.
That family couldn't keep her because the other dogs didn't get along.  However, this owner contacted us and we worked with the shelter to take her into our rescue.
Amee fostered her and she never left.
She could have a little attitude at times, but that's a Peke for you.
Phoebe must have known she would never leave Amee's.   She knew she was loved there, no matter what.
She had comfy place to rest, pillows for her head.
She even had a boy sometimes to be with.
She loved that.
Before she lost her sight, she would let the TV know what she was thinking.
Phoebe was about 13 when we got her-- according to shelter information, but we're not sure she was that old.   It wouldn't have mattered.   We just want to help.
Phoebe became very sick suddenly and her mom took her to the vet.   There was nothing that could be done.   Older dogs can sometimes just reach that point and holding them as they leave is a gift to them.

Her mom said, "RIP my sweet sweet girl. You will be so missed. We will miss that bossy nature, your singing but most of all just you. You were entrusted to us for a short time, it wasn't long enough, and we enjoyed every minute with you. It never seems long enough. I know now you can see and your heart is all healed. I know Lexie and Sydnie will be waiting for you and I know momma and daddy will find you. Give them all the kisses. Until we meet again my sweet girl."
Run free with Lexie and Sydnie, who were there to greet you.   You are loved.  💜

Big hugs to you Amee and your family for the loss of pretty Phoebe.
I just love that photo of sweet Phoebe with her chin on the pillow ... that must be in a frame Amee!
