She is very laid back and will lay in your lap like a baby.
She ate some special treats-- YUM!
Sophie went to the ophthalmologist to see if there is anything we can do for her eyes. She "appears" to look right at you--
Her hearing if really good. It has taken over for her lack of sight.
In the exam room, she heard a dog in the waiting room. I know she was going to protect me! Oh my, she was telling them off!
She walks very well on a leash-- and she sometimes seem to prance. Look at that smile! She is content to be with you, and is very loving.
Her exam showed she has no vision at all-- her retina is not attached and she must have been born with (or developed early) a cataract. She has adapted well, though. The vet also looked carefully at her teeth and think she is only about 2 years old. So, she has a very long life in front of her.
We has someone who wants to adopt this sweet girl and we know Sophie will have all the love she can have. I'm so happy for her. Blind dogs are really no different-- they just want to be loved.
