MoiMoi (who lives in Australia) had eye fold surgery. She is older now, and her eyes had begun to "droop"-- just like in us humans! Look at her now-- she looks beautiful, eyes very visible.
My Scooterbug had this surgery-- called nasal fold surgery-- when he was young. His eyes are beginning to droop a big now, but with drops, he's fine.
Starlight had this surgery when she came into rescue, along with stenotic nares surgery-- her nose was very pinched and she had trouble breathing. Many Pekes we get have the need for nasal fold surgery-- it saves their eyes from scarring and blindness if we do this. The nasal fold is sometimes is so large that the hair rubs on the eye. It's uncomfortable and can just lead to many eye issues.
Jazzy Lee had to have this, too. She's available for adoption. She's very shy, so needs the right type of home, but oh, is she sweet.
King Henry Teddy Bear had it, too. He's doing great!
MoiMoi is so glad her surgery is over and the e-collar is OFF! Oh, the dreaded e-collar. Here is an article on the nasal fold surgery. If you think your dog may need it, look at them sideways and see if the hair is touching the eye ball. If it is, it may need correction. MoiMoi is just glad she can see better now!

Moi Moi is doing great and I am so glad we did this - I was worried if I did the right thing but ... I Know I did and the hair was rubbing on her eyes like you explained Linda.
Our Vet did such a great job that my Mum and I are thinking of booking in at the Vet's for a eye and face lift on ourselves!!! LOL !!!
