Sparky first came into rescue in 2012. She was found in Baltimore and was in a shelter. Once we had her, we received an email saying it was the person's dog. She provided proof and we returned her. We had taken her to the vet, and we returned Sparky along with the eye meds for dry eye.
But, three years later, we were asked to take her back. We did. She returned with the same eye drops we had sent her with and her eyes were much worse. Back to the beginning. Her name was Shelby then and she remained with Jeanne until Jeanne became ill with cancer. With treatment, her eyes became better. We thought she was about 8 years old when we first had her, but we weren't sure.
When Jeanne became ill, her vet and his wife, Rich and Cheree took Shelby/Sparky to their house. Their two King Charles Cavalier, Nicky and Tinsley, thought she was great.
Because of her spunk, they began calling her Sparky and it stuck. She was tiny, but she was mighty.
Sparky became a member of the family. She was loved so much. Sparky enjoyed everything! She was fearless. Charee said in 2018, "She loves to go in the ocean with her mom holding her, her little feet paddling away. She is 14-15 years old now. She's still supremely confident and loves her adventures."
Sparky lived with her new family for four years-- years filled with love and care.
Sparky began to go into kidney failure, and she lost weight. Her quality of life was not good and she was having trouble breathing. She was ready and they held her as they gently let her go.
She left with love sending her on her way. Run free now, sweet one. 💜

Although it was 4 years I guess a dog feels it is a lot longer and so Sparky had a fabulous life with a loving family - four legs and two!
Sparky was a pretty girl and she will be so missed.
Goodbye Sparky, I'm so glad that you had love and care in your life until the end.
Linda thank you so much for creating this beautiful sendoff for Sparky. She brought so much joy and love into our hearts.
