FAREWELL MATILDA

FAREWELL MATILDA

In June, 2018, Matilda came into rescue from a shelter near me.  She was a little one, about 8-9 pounds.

My granddaughter helped me pick her up.  Matilda was blind, but her heart knew she was safe.

We had her eyes checked and she was a candidate for cataract surgery.  So, we did a fundraiser and you helped!   Matilda had the surgery and she was able to see again.   After being blind so long, the first look at the world was amazing!
She went to her foster home in Richmond and they fell in love with her and adopted her.
She loved her family, and her grandkids.
She went on walks and had a whole new life.
She was great with other dogs.
She had some great, fancy beds!
She loved story time with her kids.

Her mom sent me a message this week.  " Hi Linda, just letting you know that little Matilda crossed the Rainbow bridge last week. She brought us much joy and companionship during the 4+ years she was a member of our family. She had heart issues, terrible arthritis in her leg and although we did everything for several weeks to keep her going, when she stopped eating for days, we knew it was time. Thank you for all you do. She had a great last 4 years and our family loved her."

Run free, precious Matilda.  You were so loved.  💜
