WELCOME SWEET TATER

This sweet- and I mean sweet- girl was in a NC shelter.  They called her Peg.   She had a short time to be rescued and we stepped up.
We have a great group of friends  and we had volunteers who stepped up.  They drove a four hour round trip to rescue her.   Look at the smiles!
Peg just didn’t seem like the right name.  So many of you offered great names.   Pumpkin, Stuffy, Gracie, Joy, Cranberry (one of my Pekes’s names).  Princess, Sweet Pea (another one of my dog’s names), Angel, and so many more wonderful names.
We have used a lot of them, and we retire some because of how special the dog was.    One name suggested was Sweet Potato and it’s a very Thanksgiving name.    We changed it a bit to Sweet Tater.   💖.  It’s perfect.
Sweeter Tater won’t care because we don’t think she can hear.   She spent the last few days w my friends and the trimmed her, and cut off poopy mats.  She was pretty dirty.   She had been found wandering down a road/highway, wet and dirty.    Now she is clean and must feel so much better.
She has done great visiting my friend’s pets— dogs and cats.  She loves people.
Today, we begin her vet care at 12:30 followed by an ophthalmologist appointment at 2:30.  Her left eye is bad and my eye doctor is great getting us in.  I want to make sure her bad eye gets immediate attention.   WELCOME TO RESCUE, Sweet Tater.   New life has begun

We will be doing a Giving Tuesday fundraiser next Tuesday to help raise funds.  (We have a friend who wants to give $5,000 in matching funds.   In a three month time frame, we received $5,000 but spent over $10,000 in vet care.   Like everywhere else, vet care has gone up, too, but we want to do the best for each dog in our care.)
