THANKSGIVING AND DOGS

Remember, do NOT give Thanksgiving turkey or other holiday foods to your pets unless you want a sick dog and a visit to the emergency vet clinic.   Turkey and other things can lead to pancreatitis and other ailments and you don't want those.      Be safe-- just dog food for dogs.   If you insist on turkey for them, just buy one and let them chase it around the yard. :-)

Happy Turkey Day USA ....... mind you - if you bought one of those turkeys for your pekes to chase around like Linda suggested - its not going to be a happy day for them! LOL

It was a July 4th picnic that my Daytona had too much fun licking up everyone's plates that landed him in the ER with pancreatitis so this is a very real issue. Now he only gets steamed veggie people treats, no meats other than what's in his dog food. And pancreatitis takes about 3 days to present as a medical emergency so you'll see them in the ER's around Sunday.

It's been 8 years since that fateful picnic and you can still see his blood work is off a bit from it and he had a pretty mild case. Just don't do it.
