PROJECTS

Have you ever done a project and tried to NOT get help from your Pekes? I had to paint my kitchen cabinets. It has to be done every 3 years or so to keep them looking good. I always think it will take a few hours-- it took two days.
The curtains came down (and different ones went back up). Chaos ensued.
Cranberry was my supervisor-- who would know if she heped paint! She's white, the cabinets are white. But, she stayed to let me know what I was supposed to do. Piddle pads make great paint drop "cloths."
Every thing-- doors and drawers-- were propped open so the paint would dry and nothing would stick. It was a tedious project.
Scooter insisted on helping. With his head. He usually uses his tail, but he decided the head was better this time. Don't you love his new look?
Max stayed out of the kitchen completely. He wanted to stay where it was simple, on his ottoman, in front of the window, with a toy. He was a happy, content boy.
Scooter started out in the family room-- with Coco. But, you know he joined me later.
It was finally done. Doors and drawers were closed, chaos left and order returned. And the ladders and paint can and brushes were all put away (until I begin more trim work in the other rooms).
And I made a cup of coffee and relaxed. And the dogs didn't care if they came in the kitchen because there was nothing to get into. Isn't that just the way!

OK gang - this is what REALLY happened!

Cranberry was the supervisor - that dame does not "do" she gives orders!

Scooter went "punk" with his new white hair tips.

Max , who stayed out of it all is the smartest in that household! LOL
And the coffee Linda had at the end of it all was - shhhhhh - an Irish Coffee!
*If I was there , I'd have one with her too! LOL
Kitchen looks lovely Linda! :)

It is a major project just for me to mop the kitchen floor..They all have to be with me every second of the day. Oh and cooking dinner is also a major project. 36 little feet always there helping me.
You do great work Linda. I will pencil you in for the first week in November to re-stain my 20 year old cabinets! I say we do a maple stain with a sage green insert on the doors. LOL
Your cabinets look wonderful........

LOL, Drizzle is terrified of the vacuum but insists on following me around whenever I use it. Today she helped me make breakfast by standing right under my feet ..that is a daily occurrance, lol.

Your kitchen and home are beautiful, Linda! How in the world do you find the time with rescues, grandbabies, blogging etc.? I like the bell above the sink ~ is that to let all the pooches know dinner is ready? I painted the picnic table bright green last summer and Ozzie had neon-green exterior paint on his tail for a long time. You've reminded me that I really need to get busy painting my cabinets as well!

I love the bell over the sink. It used to hang outside my parents' back door and it was always fun to just ring it for no reason. Funny how little things bring special memories back-- that bell is one of them.
