Portia was brought into rescue last spring. She was a very loving and sweet Peke mix. We knew she was a mix when we saw her-- but we had already committed to her and we did all we could for her.
She was heartworm positive and at her new home, we covered her treatment to be done. Dogs can die after this treatment, from pulmonary embolism for one thing. Unfortunately, Portia died two weeks after her last treatment. Her family and all of us in rescue who loved her are devastated. Words cannot express how sorry we are.
