I just got this little 8.5. pound Peke out of the shelter. I have never smelled a Peke that smells as bad as this one. I mean in ten years of rescue, never! It was as if bad urine was poured all over him, repeatedly.
I took him right to my vet, and they sent me right to the emergency vet to stay overnight. He has a raging bladder infection, and is filthy. He is very sick right now.
His brother, Bernard, stayed at my vet-- he probably has a raging bladder infection, too, so he'll go on meds also, I'm sure. These two have suffered from severe neglect-- it's so sad. Let's hope they both come through okay!

Poor fur babies. I hope they can get the bladder infection(s) cleared up fast. I will never understand how anyone could neglect and abuse such precious animals. It is beyond my comprehension. Get well soon Gimmie and Bernard so you can get furever loving and caring homes! Hugs and kisses!
I am with Ginkgo's Dad - why do people like that have animals!!!
I do hope their infections get cleared up and they start to feel really well.
If they are really smelly Linda - check for yeast infections to the skin too.
