FAREWELL BRISCOE

Briscoe came into rescue last fall from a Maryland shelter.
This was his shelter picture-- they said he was seven, but we knew he was older.   That didn't matter-- we wanted to help him.
He was a really sweet boy and he just wanted a home.
He was fostered and then adopted with Festus.
They loved being together and Festus misses his friend.
I'm sure he is wondering where he is.    Briscoe had a ruptured disc.   He was scheduled for surgery, but before the surgery could take place, he began to be in tremendous pain and was having trouble breathing.    His mom was brokenhearted, but did all she could do for him.    She had to let him go because the pain was too great for him.    He was held in her lap as they let him quietly go.
We are so very sorry-- Briscoe had  5 1/2 months with his new mom, but he was part of her heart from the first moment she saw him.    He gave her pure joy-- he was loved.   Rest in peace, sweet boy.
